Few months ago the Monster 696+ was being sold for 9 somthing now the price is 10 something, just beacuse they have showroom now.
If you have read the original article, Ducati 696 is NOT being sold officially as yet in India!

I just mentioned it as an example as it was in the old price list as well as in the new price list with different MRP

Just went through that. Pretty interesting stuff. Most of these guys are quite astounded to see cows and bulls and animals in the middle of the road and having right of way by law!

i am really disapointed that out of all these beautifull things by which our delhi is surrounded,he only posted the pics of those cows and on road vendors....i hope he must have seen many other nice and picfull views on his way to the showroom......anyway......really a nice job by u and arya da....nice to see how u manage to cover up all these things....u ppl really encourage us to do more in life...

Today i visited the showroom the where these beauties are housed. The 1198 and 848 are really gorgeous bikes. The sales person was very friendly. He explained about all the bikes pretty well. I asked him if he could turn the 848 and 1198 on so i could hear there exhaust notes, WOW, what a note, i have heard a 999 exhaust before and it seems pale in comparision to these beauties. I am planing to buy a superbike soon and 848 is a strong contender but is the extra 3.5 lakh worth it ?, i mean its got less power (in the sense that i would like to use it on the track that is coming up in Delhi in the near future) and only thing (i can see) its better than the 1000 is in style-which it has loads.

I work with these guys all the time. This is what they photograph in India, roadside vendors, cows on the roads, polythene bags strewn on the streets, littered garbage all around, beggars and so on...

Well, I'm stuck in Chicago airport on my way home from India thanks to some great weather. When I was going thru my phone I saw a few photos that I wanted to share with you guys.
They pretty random but here's the run down:
My favorite one is from when I was at Ducati headquarters last wk checking in with all the crew and checking out my 2010 weapon. Watching them test engines on the dyno was cool. I'm happy to report they're doing their home work.
Also had a few pictures from when me, my bro Rog and a few of our boys went to watch the university of Kentucky basketball game. They beat north Carolina in a thriller that went right down to the buzzer in a instant classic for sure. Freshman John Wall took over, he is a bad dude!!!
Also got a picture from me and all the fellas at one of my best friend's wedding from a few wks ago which you could also could say was a instant classic!!
HAHA And last some pretty interesting pictures from my latest trip to India where we launched a new Ductai dealership. It was my first time there, prob wouldn't go back anytime soon on my own time, but wow didIi get to see a few things I cant say I see everyday and meet some nice people.
The biggest thing was seeing cow's in the middle of the road, yes I said cow's in the middle of the road in the middle of the city. Turns out there some people actually worship these cow's and the locals told me you better off to hit a person in the road then a cow!!! No wonder they didn't let me drive!!!
Last but not least there is a photo of me training in the dirt

i am surprised to see ducati still gave him a seat for 2010 after his disastrous 2009 season,he is a very lucky guy indeed,(i think it has something to do with keeping its usa market happy), ,still first moto gp rider in india so i am happy, hope rossi takes not of this, not that plp here know who he is.
what he posted in his blog what all americans come to see in india that is the slums ,cows, dont blame him for that.

Even the legendary Nick sanders comments weren't very polite,

as they say, when you meet your heroes you feel disheartened as you find them either very ordinary and not upto expectations,
but here, lets keep it to the point that Nicky came and we met him,
what matters is how he races, don't we balk when foreigners kiss openly or some other things which isn't a part & parcel of India?

lets keep this thread about Ducati launch, i know it hurts when you hear something bad about our country, but its their perspective, we might have different about theirs,
no Americans, Europeans are used to see cows on their so such reaction, its usual if you look at this from their point of view...simple!
                  my two cents

I wonder if India is ready for these kind of motorcycles (Japanese supersports and HD included) - while I believe there are enough roads to enjoy these machines on, India is still a place where you cannot leave a bike like that unattended for 5 minutes before people start fidgeting around with your bike, not to mention frequent instances of vandalism. The concept of 'other people's property' is non-existent in India. Contrast this to developed countries, where no one will even touch your bike without your permission (criminals excluded).

If I owned a 848 in India, I would be very uncomfortable leaving it in a public parking and going to watch a movie or go for a dinner. Luxury cars are different, since they remain locked, and seem to have a higher degree of intimidation than motorcycles.

I will own the entry level Ninja 250 soon, and when I get it, I will use a disc lock alarm with motion sensor, a full size waterproof cover locked to my bike with a monstrous cable lock. And this in MY apartment parking, not in a public area.

i think the most practical offering from ducati for india is the Hypermotard, Monster series for its explotiable performance. 848 for the same reason and the sports classic series.
