    frnds dont compare the bikes even before the new one is launched..
    let the new model be launched and then who ever wants to buy one go compare and just pick ur choice its waste to just keep on comparing the models before their launch!

      in terms of outright performance the p180 has been going downhill since the dtsi V1(18 inch wheels). it used to beat the karizma in the 0-100 sprint and had a top whack of 129 kmph. and it also gave fantastic mileage too. bajaj is now just adding visual muscle (and weight) rather than real performance muscle. the new p180 weighs 10 kgs more than a180.

              This thread is a pointless speculation thread. People please dont waste your time reading anything. There is no news here. Just a Bajaj Vs TVS fight. Mods please lock this thread as there is no concrete news coming from anywhere.
              Advice is a form of nostalgia.
              Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                Yeah, it seems like a speculation thread!!

                I again reiterate TVS has only confirmed that they 'might' think of a 200cc+ machine if the demand from the market arises.They will definitely like to enter into the segment but havent given a specific timeframe for it which means they might not have even started working on the project.

                A 220cc machine from TVS is highly unlikely at this point of time but a 200cc bike might be out of the bag in the year 2010.

                ^^Wish whatever i wrote above, is 'FALSE' and TVS proves me wrong!!

                      Amateur sites and Blogs are dime a dozen these days.. xBhp (ians) normally know to ignore them. Don't worry, we don't take them seriously.

                      But sometimes even reputed publications are responsible in speculation.. and this time news of a probable TVS 200(+) CC has been reported by national media (not just motorbeam). Hence the discussion.

                      Relax, our mods do know their job.

                        5 Days after i got my P220, i had read a report about the Fazer 250 launch in Business Standard Newspaper, Page 1 top. It has been 5 months since. No sign of any such Fazer. So IMO we should not believe any news reports which don't come from the Chairman's mouth.

I didn't quite get the ZMA part either.....do you intend to say that anyone looking for a bike with a 1 lakh budget should simply go for an R15 and shouldn't even consider the ZMA which by the way has been serving the nation's touring leagues for almost half a decade now??

Comparing bhp/torque of bikes can make sense, but I believe that dusting a P220 on a RTR180 would be much more fun and SATISFYING to do than to lets say dust a P180 with a RTR180.



                          Brother we're talking about the RTR180 here, has the FI been launched yet?? Anyways ..... I take your point none the less.

                          The reply for the R15 discussion is right above......please do take the time to read through. Yeah I give you that the P220 is a better highway tool then the RTR180 coz of the upright stance and better top-end.



                          Guys I too feel that this is going way O.T. Hence this will be my last post regarding the fact that RTR180 is a better performer than her similar cc counterparts and can even give the big guys a run for their money (read P220). Although some may disagree to this but for me lower cc and better performance is better than higher cc and similar performance. Period. I won't reply to any post regarding the RTR180 again in this thread. If anyone wants to discuss it further then message me.

                          Anyways the RTR220 is gonna be a helluva bike as it'll surely outshine the P220 and the likes; maybe even the R15. Lets hope TVS can surprise us at the expo.
                          Dude you are clearly confused as to what performance means for an individual. For example you say the 220 is not as good as the R15 on the tracks. and then you say that the ZMA is a tourer. Well all the three bikes fall in different leagues. R15-Pure sport machine. ZMA- Touring focussed. And the 220 - street/touring.

                          But the catch here is the pricing and individual needs. Considering 220 DTS-i - The fastest indian at such a low price, I think is the best VFM.The new 220 handles better than the older Fi version. So I think its better VFM - you get raw power with somewhat better handling than the older variant.And please stop whining about Bajaj's questionable quality and go check out their newer products and then comment on the quality. This is my last post on this R15 vs 220 vs ZMA and some TVS bike Parth is talking about.

                            i wish the companies stop classifying bikes in different class with cc.. instead start classifying them with functionality.

                            why should 200 and 220 be called different segment. its better they call bikes like commuter segment, sport, tourer, sport tourer etc..

                            let the cost, functionality and spec make the required differences between the bikes...


                            @MODS: is there any confirmed news with u guys as i wonder this thread is going no where! all speculations.. but still not locked yet...

                              ^^ This will eventually happen as the market matures. Look at the car market nowadays. No one has classified cars by cc since a long time.

                                but the bikes are.. every cc increase makes a new segment!
                                even R15 is not spared in the world outside xbhp.
