Heard about the Maruti 800, otherwise known as Suzuki Alto the world over?

And, this thread has no purpose. Only concrete news is that A220/200 will launch only after a year or more. Remember the "menace" thread?

^^ they never classified M800 as a 800cc car.. it was always a small car the way it is now. just on a friendlier side in the pocket for the masses.. it was never like 800cc segment, 1000cc segment, 1200cc segment and all that.. and the fact is car market is matured for a long time now. it is classified as small hatch backs, notch backs, saloons, SUV's, MUV's..

just for example, M&M bolero, M&M scorpio, or land cruzer, all are SUV's and not segmented with respect to the cc of engine they got..

but in bikes it is that way.. 100cc, 110cc, 125cc, 150cc etc.. segments.
GS150 and R15, both are 2 very different bikes but fall in same 150cc segment! this needs a change.. that is what i ment...

sorry for the OT mods.. pardon me this time..

        TVS Taurus

Also, what happened to the TVS Taurus? it was some 250 CC single cylinder unit. I saw some pics of that.

Most of these bikes will never see the light of the day. It's a waste of time.

This thread now reminds me of a GD I attented long time back, where the discussion went OT and finally became a battle ground - resulting in the recruiter rejecting everyone

why should 200 and 220 be called different segment. its better they call bikes like commuter segment, sport, tourer, sport tourer etc..

let the cost, functionality and spec make the required differences between the bikes...

+1 Completely agrre with you. Good point.

Definitely a photoshop job.. but some food for thought as well for TVS designers.

Had the RTR 180 been styled somewhat like that, it could have been a real "menacing" model to behold.

Of course, a PS job ... They can't add those USD Forks, monoshock, fat tyres, etc. None of this stuff looks practical..
and yes, the rear disk is without a caliper.

But yes, I wish TVS Takes a look at this photo... It's quite close to what we need!
