bajaj definitely needs to have a USP for the f version of 220, n that's why they gave the projector a miss in the s version.

I would say, the P220 "S" is the P200 Phoenix with more punch and surely it's a great value for money for people who wanted naked P220!!

But off late it seems that it has become Bajaj's policy to always pulling their hands back a bit at the very last moment!! I mean they could have easily included P135's Engine Refinements and styling cues in the P220S, and could have the resulting package would have looked absolute killer!!

But they didn't..... the only reason I can think of is that they didn't wanted to murdalize the sales of the P220 DTS-i with a cheaper and better looking P220 DTS-i S!! But still.... too many Pulsars with the same look, does kill the Brand Image somehow
Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

            Great going, Bajaj.

Now, whatever depleted value the P200 had is also going to go boom.

Buying the P200 is the first AND the last time I ever bought a Bajaj.
I'll keep my 200 and get something bigger later, as long as it is not associated with Bajaj (includes ALL kawasakis too).

This ain't a hate post. But I have had enough of their policies regarding two wheelers. I'm done with it.

              Touche..!!

The present Pulsar versions still continue to sell like hot cakes (I see UGIV's everywhere), and that too without any significant TV Ads (when was the last time a TV Ad was aired for the P150..??). As long as majority of the consumers don't say "NO" strongly (like tanay is doing), I don't see any reason for the present package to be subjected to a drastic upgrade.

But as someone who is passionate about biking, I agree that differentiation in looks is something which we need/want/crave. In fact one can command premium just because a particular model looks different. For example, apart from the monoshock, "mechanically" I see no difference between the Yamaha FZ and the Suzuki GS150R (forget the radial tyres as well.. guys are more interested in the rear tyre being FAT). But we all know that the FZ is priced at a premium than the GS150R.

With an exclusive looking bike, BAL (or any manufacter for that matter) can charge an obscene premium. Performance..?? Who cares..?? Had performance been the holy grail alone, the RTR 160/180 should have comfortably outsold many models.

Its a fine act of balance (as an MBA, its an ART to me) for a manufacturer in giving the consumer:

[1] Value for money, [2] Pride of ownership, [3] Performance... and still remaining profitable and not shutting down shop.

BTW, what's the Sprocket count? Gearing? As a streetfighter I would assume that the 220 S will not have a a taller gearing like that of 220F (a highway tool). And if that's the case, here comes the direct killer of 220FI.

Gearing should had been taller in Fazer compared to FZ-16/s. I hope Bajaj keeps that in mind, and that will be the USP of 220S, unlike just shedding few kilos here and there.

Anybody for the fastest accelerating Indian?

Thanks for the information .... for 70k ex showroom P220 is prob the best VFM option as a whole package and it has a very good impressive look too.

I am completely disappointed after seeing the pic this is not my liking P220s I am not saying that P-200 was bad in design but if bajaj is launching new product then they should have done some good eye catching design... so that people on road shouldn't get confused b/w 200-220 on road.Must say Bajaj do some eye catching design R&D please.
when we will see such kind of models from Bajaj..? on 2012 end of world... and look at what TVS is upto will kill bajaj in coming time.

All these pic are not true they are could be pics..

Rightly said there Payeng Dude!! Totally agreed... finally it's the tast of the End User that rules market decisions and forces and all the aspects of a particular bike and hence the soon comming Pulsar 220 "S"!!

For RTR 160/180... I've not ridden the 180, but when test I rode the RTR160 Fi, I felt as if I was sitting on a drilling machine when the bike actually went to the power band which actually kinda killed the fun I was having with the bike bulleting off and I think that's exactly where the new range of Pulsars are setting the game above.!!

With a 4-valve blast furnace in the court I'm hoping the Pulsars are all set to launch unless and untill a major debacle happens in quality or something, else, Pulsars would remain popular for quite some time

And to rest all the speculation to end here is the pic of original thing, and the on road Delhi Price of bike is 72865 which almost 3 k less than the F version.
thanks for the info and pic Bandhav.. I was going to wait for this one to get launched so that my bro could buy it, who as of now likes 220 except its fixed fairing, but then again he too wanted that amazing HL kit in the "S" version too. So now I think he'll go straight for the "F" than waiting for this "S"

                          • I am not surprised by this new step from BAJAJ but at least they would have altered slight change in design elements especially the headlight. But anywayz, it would still work for BAJAJ and provide some decent numbers.

But if were a prospective customer I would rather stretch my budget and go for the 'F' version. The projectors are surely worth it.

I say its competition to RTR 180!! After all only 180 can better 0-100 timing of 220.

Nope, check the timings again. RTR180 outperforms R15's 0-60&0-100 timings, not P220's.
