The News doesn't appeal me at all.. I already have a P200, so I will not prefer to buy a bike with a minimal hike in power with the same old P200 look..

Yep, in that case, it would be better to retain your P200.

But the unfaired version shoun't have had any kind of fairing it should have been completely naked like the FZ or something else which should have really refreshed the looks.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

I always loved the P200 more than P220. I'm happy that they retained its original looks. Those who like the naked looks will go with this. Also I believe removing the fairing will help in reducing the bikes weight . How much does the fairing weigh? Any idea guys? 3 KGS?

Good move by Bajaj. Interestingly, 200 owners always cribbed about getting a more powerful version of a street fighter 200, now you have it. When the new 220 has hasn't been update in terms of looks, I don't see a reason why a 200 upgrade should.

BTW, that pic is undoubtedly the new 220 S, but I'm skptic about the the rear "220" stickering, which is differnet from current leauge of Pulsars (ie it's the old one). So.. may be this pic is old. Remember the time, when different variants of 200 were showcased in Pune.

                    Let's wait and watch!

bajaj took the bigger forks and discs and rearsets from the 220 and put it in the old p180 to make the UG-IV p180. Now headlamps from 180/150 to make the new 220.

dont know hw much it would weigh, but i think there wont be much difference as it is plastic..

If you are talking about the picture which has been uploaded by Bandhav, then, sir, he HIMSELF is the official source. He works for BAL (Bajaj Auto Ltd.). He is the Assistant Manager of the Probiking Showroom of Bajaj, located in Central Delhi. That IS the official P220 DTS-i S!

Its not just plastic.. but held together by metal rods as well.
Remember the Karizma ZMR (with full fairing) is heavier than the older Karizma R (with a half fairing) by around 10 Kgs..!!

My guess is that without the Half fairing, the "S" variant should be at around 3 kgs lighter.

^ I agree. Even FZ is 4 kgs lighter than FAZER. Thank you fairing!

When P180 weighs 147 kgs & P220 weighs 152, this S model would be somewhere in between, right?
My question is, how will that negligible weight reduction add to performance, like some are suggesting here?

Guys Think! Even if you ride empty stomach, and remove the toolkit & extras, you can save 3 kgs ... But it doesn't really add performance, at least noticeable. Fact.

The kerb weight of the P220 is 150 Kgs and not 152 (as given on its website).

Yeah, have to agree on that. But then reduction of unnecessary flab or dead weight is always welcome.

Ohh i didn't know that..I just can't get myself to believe that bajaj has for the first time come up with something so naive..I hope there are some changes in the performance.,looks like its better to go ahead with the faired 220 itself..Wot say Aryan?
