Classic Rx's are good but I don't appreciate all the new tech bits and a 4T engine being put into a classic and call it a legend.. IMO that only becomes a remix or DJ version enjoyable for short time only while the trend lasts.

^^ ROTFLMAO , the funniest thing Ive heard all year !

The new RX should be quite an eye opener in terms of the nature of models launched by manufacturers in India. Retro styling on a new bike isnt something that has been attempted by Indian manufacturers (excepting RE of course) As the saying goes - Old school is cool .....

May be a short-stroke engine which can pump up 12bhp of power in an 100cc can be a good option.......
With an Naked Body of the same RX - it can produce the Legend Reincarnated.

Rightly said Nio... one won't get the feel of a 2-Stroke RX on a 4-Stroke one... coz i am an EX-owner of a RX100 which i enjoyed for more than 3 years...

But bro, RX were more known for torque spread, rather than top end power.

I have ridden all sorts of machines from ZMA, to All the Pulsars, to all the RTR's, but none had that hammer like torque right from the start of powerband, like Max 100 or RX100 had. Maybe ZMA was close but not equal to it...

Rx has to be 2 stroke to be Rx. That's the bottom line... and I hope Yamaha reads this!
Try Fi, try Catalytic Converters, try iridium sparks, try whatever! Just let it be 2S.

friend i think Yamaha guys are aware enough to understand that RX series is loved for its sound and pick up of the 2Strokes,but if they have decided to launch it in 4Stroke then definately they would have thought over it and would have some surprise in store for us.

It should basically just be a marketing tactic using the strong ages old brand image of the RX series.I can imagine people in rural areas and all getting excited and words like 'RX phir aa raha hai' ( sorry incase my Hindi is wrong ).

Obviously people might be relating the words with performance, but the words 'RX' would give an awesome initial promotion to the product.Well, they could have gone ahead with another 'Alba',but they decided to go with this, and well doesn't it generate more excitement rather than a thread with the title 'New 100cc 4 stroke from Yam'.

That aspect aside,i expect another benchmark from Yamaha, this time in the 100cc segment.

In my opinion there're 2 ways to reach top of the building
                      1. You do some real good work, throw up the rope & climb
                      2. You follow someone's back, tie the rope behind the guy who's made to the top
Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
Awareness + Skill is what keeps you out of harm's way
ATGATT + Awareness + Skill means you might Live To Ride another day

If they say we are launching just another 'me too' 100cc commuter it won't be successful that's why. Yamaha said a few months back that they will concentrate only on premium bikes. This is their bid for the 100cc category without being seen as contradictory to what they have proclaimed earlier.

RX100 in 4stroke ? Doesnt make any sense . Its nearly impossible to gain the essence of an 2-stroke RX in a 4stroke . It's gonna be nowhere near the old one .

It's going to be just another 100cc commuter. Nothing for an enthusiast to keep an eye on. Also with the kind of pricing Yamaha keeps with their they'll have really really tough competion from Bajaj and HH

                              4 Stroke RX100..??

The classic RX styling might stand out among today's sporty bikes. But then a 100 cc (4 Stroke) engine won't do justice to the concept.

But a RX 200 (4 Stroke).. hmm.. it might just work.
