Yesterday i drove on the newly constructed flyover in a new P135 LS. Well for the 1st week its toll free but they will be collecting the Toll going forward and they also have schemes for monthly passes.

About the flyover - Small 2 lanes on both sides, my 1st expression was that this is even samller than the roads below it( just my opinion) because i have drove on that route before and the normal roads seemes much wider. As it was Sunday afternoon, people were having picnic @ the stop bys as i noticed a family with all mat in their pickup auto with wifes and kid and having lunch. Pics were being clicked all around as nearly everyone who passed stopped to take a pic of themselves over the flyover. The toll bridges were'nt operational, but i doubt if they operate how much trouble will be a the toll gates. People paying money to reach office early and then getting delayed every morning at Toll gate doesnt make any sense.

Overall good work but 776 crores is way more for the type of construction done.

Yes maximum speed mentioned is 80kmph but there were no CCTV or call box.

        Hmmm.. i'm late here.
Anyway, I took the Elevated Highway on Friday night at ~9:20PM along with Mr.Vas. Wat a wonderful ride it was.
Actually, i was pretty excited. The sexy lights, empty roads, I saw a professional photographer with a Huge-HUGE tripod taking photos. every other person had stopped on the highway to take a couple of snaps.
Managed to touch 130kmph on my ZMA. Dint spot any cops or surv. cameras.
Overall, a wonderful experience. Nice roads. Windblast is huge. and its pretty cold on top there.
Managed to reach silk board in <5mins flat.

Sure hope there are no cameras, otherwise will I'll be in big trouble with the speed limit. Touched 140 w/o much effort and even the traffic seemed very disciplined. Best part is being an elevated highway, no numbnuts can waltz onto the highway

The lanes are smaller than the road below, the road is on the narrower side but since mostly cars and bikes will use it, i thinks it's ok. Cameras are there and just not activated yet i guess. Can easily spot them.

He wants to test if there will be any performance gain in opposite direction.

Seems everybody testing the top speeds of their guns. Cops where are you? Where are the speed guns and surveillance cameras?

But seriously the three-wheelers shouldn't have been allowed in the first place!!

And i had one doubt. What if God forbid, an accident occurs right on the middle of the highway. Is there any exits/service flyover right near important junctions. If not, then this is a very good example of 'Bad" engineering because one can't also get the rescue team reach the accident spot from either side as it will be jam-packed.This could very well become a serious 'issue' in days to come.

                      have seen 4 accidents,
                      1) one involving the BETL survelience vehicle and an IKON. the BETL sumo was crawling in the right lane, when the ikon cud not control the speeds and hit the divider. Result: Bonnet open completely!
                      2) one indica hit an i10 on the left lane! this happened 3days back! there was a lot of crowd atop the fly'er watching the drama
                      3) omni windshield broken and parked on the left side, dont know wat happend as nobody was there!
all the above 3 happend on the lane from EC to CSB
                      4) a Disco poser hit the divider while goign towards EC. he was riding without a lid!

If any accidents happen, there are these BETL sumo's doing rounds atop the fly'er, n there are few police vehicles parked at either ends, one at EC n one at CSB, they will rush to the spot with police mama! Thankfully no injuries to anyone till date!

Everyday i am seeing atleast 2-3 blokes pushing the bike atop the flyer, Reason: Fuel over

OT: Now there is a "new" U-turn below the CSB fly'er (to reach bommanahalli from the new fly'er). No need to go n wait in the signal to take a U-turn

People on another automotive forum had told earlier that BETL vehicle crawling is a disaster waiting to happen. Sure enough, we have one. Trust me nothing is going to change. You have to drive slow, thats all authorities/public is capable of saying

CSB = Central Silk Board. few metres before the signal (which leads to hsr ring road from EC) they are clearing debris/unwanted dump and making a U-turn there. So there is no need to wait in the signal here-after, u can just take a U-turn before the signal and go towards bommanahalli.

Noticed few temporary metal holders bolted every 1.5km instead of the concrete dividers. I think this can be easily removed in case of emergency so that the vehicles can go on the opposite lane, but still it will lead to lot of confusion!
Thinking in this perspective, its engineering gone wrong
