I just hope it is comfortable, so that it can also replace the old age Karizma, we need something powerful and affordable.

You are comparing twin cylinder to single cylinder. Fazer 250CC is single cylinder, Plus it should be enough to dethrone P220 on topspeed run.Originally posted by hotshot.vipin View Post

kawasaki's ninja 250r is the best 250 available in the world.... plus it is a premium fully faired bike.... the fazer 250c.c. will be i think in the segment of zmr and p220 and not in the lines of ninja250r..... the fazer250 if launched should be launched in the range of 100-120k and not more....Originally posted by jigar2speed View PostYou are comparing twin cylinder to single cylinder. and that high price 4 a single cylinder 20-25 bhp would mean that its gonna flop....no 1 will buy it for sureOriginally posted by rohitraghavan View PostNo ways would a 250 cc bike from yamaha cost 1.20 lakhs. The R15 is already 1.15 lakhs, it will be priced at a min of 2 lakhs for sure.
and how can they price a 250cc at 1.2 lakhs like ssome1 said above....such pricing would definately hamper the sales of r15 which they definately don't want(else they would have lauched the r125 by now)_____________________________________________
want something new in my stable,.,.,d pulsar doesn't feed to my need for speed,.,.,.,
SOMETHING FAIRED
yamaha r15 (2010) - not riding it now
pulsar 150 (2006)
yamaha rx100 (1993)<<still kicks a#$>>

r15 and fz250 are two bikes of different genres one is a track tool with a lot of useable high end power.... while fz250 (if on the lines of fz16) will be rich on torque as it is portrayed as a streetfighter. if we want to compare it we should do it with a bike which has the profile of a tourer or street fighter not a track tool....Originally posted by hotshot.vipin View Postand that high price 4 a single cylinder 20-25 bhp would mean that its gonna flop....no 1 will buy it for sure

people who would want to buy an r15 will go ahead with it and those who want a tourer or a street fighter will prefer going for fz250....Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Hi frnds... I can't help but wonder whether fazer 250 will be launched, because I heard that there is a Regulation by the Govt. Of India for foreign companies(like Honda n yamaha) not to manufacture bikes with more than 150cc engine displacement... I'm not sure whether it is true... Just heard it... Does anyone have any idea whether this piece of information is true...???

not very true !!
Dude,I'm guessing you're talking about homologation. The bikes (more than 150cc) if brought to India from other countries as a whole unit, have to udergo some tests and formalities before they can be released into the indian market.whereas if they are manufactured in india, they should have no problems getting it released in the market, like the case with current yamaha's more than 150 cc. The terms may be wrong, don't flame me for itOriginally posted by vikramrameshbabu View PostHi frnds... I heard that there is a Regulation by the Govt.
