I will definitely go for it.. This is the bike I was looking for.. The torque comes as low as 3500 rpm. compression ratio of 10.5;1 which means it can take any petrol on road. and 9L ya its a bit costly.. But I will go for it..
Suzuki please bring it on!!
The point is not in the difference of 10.07L.. The BIG difference is that U can ride it all the way long, even with a pillion and a huge luggage for a month long trip!!Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostLast edited by prabhubravo; 05-25-2010, 12:53 PM.

Yes, I know about its torque that's why I said "Albeit, we all know this bike's a better deal."Originally posted by prabhubravo View PostThe point is not in the difference of 10.07L.. My point is that if you are saying that "we all are getting down and dirty with great bikes".. Then that's not a truth as yet.
Atleast not until we reach a 5-6 Lac Mark...---

I read in Bike magazine that they are going to launch A ninja 650 below 5 lakhs. I think that will be a good deal. Though i do feel a bandit or a fazer or a KTM is actually the bike to go touring in India. But let's not forget the price points are like this:
220- 70 K
R15/zmr ~ 100K
Ninja250 ~ 3 lakhs
and the rest of the imported niceties start from 10 lakhs.
so basically after 3 the next jump is at 10. and after 1 the next jump at 3.
Which is really strange because below 70K for every extra 2 grands there are 5 models vying for your attention.
I am no MBA but what are the companies doing? I think there is enough market for bikes between 3 and 9 lakhs.

i totally agree with you. 9lacs is still off-limits for most of us. A ninja 650 for 5 seems more practical !
Regardless, Life shall go on.

My 2 cents...
9L is still a little steep for us people who wish to buy a higher cc bike. Am sure 9L wont be on road for sure. Anything between 3-7L makes sense and infact anything between 300-600cc makes much more sense with practical useable power fir the urban as well as highway rides, considering our overall quality of roads."Never recreate from your memory, always imagine new places"

As far as the road conditions are concerned, they will never be like the developed world in our lifetimes. Nor will the civic sense. But I still manage to clock a few kms with my litre class!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Excuse me for Gross OT, but if Suzie boys are asking for feedback, this motorcycle is a good contender with its pricing* and other features

9 lacs is too much ..........for a bike even if its 1250 CC......specially for indian market..........what is the point in launching a bike with such a cost that only few would actually purchase it....and what is the justification of 9 lacs for 1250 CC.....
we can't afford it man.......
looks like we indians have to wait till bajaj launches a 1250 CC bike....

The Bandit retails at close to 7000 odd GBP in the UK. The UK is one of the more liberal markets cost to OEM wise. Even assuming the same cost to OEM, and completely manufactured in India, thats about 5 lacs. If you factor in the costs that Suzuki have to bear to actually start production in India, and the red tape, we would see this bike released probably 5 years from now and priced around 7lacs.Originally posted by princesirohi View Post9 lacs is too much ..........for a bike even if its 1250 CC......specially for indian market..........what is the point in launching a bike with such a cost that only few would actually purchase it....and what is the justification of 9 lacs for 1250 CC.....

And for argument sake, if Bajaj were to launch a 1250cc capacity bike, I dont think they could price it any lesser than 7 lacs either. What do you think?

Re: June First Week India Launch: Suzuki Bandit 1250, will you buy in 9L on road?
Here's an example of many of us saying 9 Lakhs is too much for a 1250cc bike... but look at it 4 years later... it is one of the most VFM bike around.
I came to this thread to just declare that the Big Bandit has taken me hostage... I know I know the looks etc... but i'm certain I can make the Big Bandit look the way I want in my hands... as far as the rest of the bike is concerned... is there any doubt about its quality? I'd rather buy 2 Bandits, remodel one as naked street and the other one as GT... instead of buying one 20 lakh bike. But thats just me... i seem to be suddenly smitten by the bandit... never thought it would happen, i've even hated it at times but what i'd give now to own this machine...
Some pics to help keep my hopes burning and as tribute to a fantastic bike...
