Somehow Hero has decided to target the underprivileged/uneducated and posers as their target customer and hence its pushing out such hideously flashy motorcycles. And this all started a while ago with ZMR and a recent example being the new cbz extreme (i.e, eyesore edition)
and currently it does seems to be working out. I wonder how will this strategy of distancing itself from educated middle class and upper middle class will work for hero's rep?
When in doubt...... Gas it!

^^^ it works out in hero's favour i guess...theres more poor people than rich oens. And a good education does not guarantee good taste.
lets see. hopefully teh cbr is appreciably different from the r15 when it comes to performance. You said you will buy, and is the same case with me. There will be many like us, and its gonna sell definitely. Youth definitely gets tempted when they see it in the showroom.

+1 .... You forgot the LED tail lamps ... I am happy that RE is improving day by day with a positive mindset ... Now having booked a RE Desert Storm, should I wait till TB500 is launched ?
@sambit ... Its Dream Yuwa not Yoga lol
the tb500 is technologically more superior and comfortable than the c500 but dunno when it will it will come into showrooms
im assuming a good 1yr and with royal enfield's long delivery period i personally think its a long shot plus with all those added features it would cost a good 20k more than the c500
by that time maybe something else maybe launched by some other company that would be cheaper that may catch our fancy
BTW CHECK OUT THE NEWS SECTION ON THE ROYAL ENFIELD SITE FOR COMPLETE DETAILS ON THE TB500

yes u are rightOriginally posted by Satellite.kid View PostSo far, all my praise goes to Royal Enfield. I mean Thunderbird 500 was expected, but i am sure it was't expected with such a fantastic upgrade. The latest features on the new Thunderbird easily makes it the most advanced and best motorcycle to ever come out of RE stable. All these new features shall make it a much more safer and reliable motorcycle to ride than before. It's quite cool
someone had mentioned that re engineers had put a 500cc efi engine on a tb chassis at time of making the c500 some years ago but the bike never got to see the road but now everything seems to make sense
only hope they have sorted out the efi problems they were having on their c500

What are you talking about? The 150R is the same spec as around the globe no?Originally posted by mid View Postsounds good indeed
but only if they decide to lounge them here
and if the cbr150r was revealed without degradation it would have being such a blessing to choose between r15v2; such huge difference when compared to the thailand spec
why the heck they didn't introduced the original here
18bhp
12.66Nm torque?
What is different?
It seems that HERO isnt the only one with stickerings these days

+1 and bro a small correction its yuga not yogaOriginally posted by sambit View PostDude,if those models comes out,we dont care..... but what hurts is,they are showing these things to the whole world....Manufacturers show their strength in Auto Expo....not mock themselves...
And yes only models worth their launch-
1>Thunderbird 500
2>CBR 150
3>Triumph Dytona
4>Hero maestro
5>Yamaha Ray
6>Honda Dream yoga

First of all they need to come out of this sticker and paint jobs and come up with very good products ...Originally posted by cicatrix View PostSomehow Hero has decided to target the underprivileged/uneducated and posers as their target customer and hence its pushing out such hideously flashy motorcycles. +100Originally posted by inder.cool View PostI just hope this bike is NOT NEGLECTED by Bajaj in lieu of their new pulsars...
i think bajaj was afraid of all the other launches happening that they delayed it by about a month
by that time everything should settle down and they can have all the limelight for themselves which in fact is not a bad thing in the case of the ktm 200 duke

+1Originally posted by 2strokerama View PostIt appears honda have got the timing wrong with the cbr150r. Would they have released it a year or 2 back when yamaha had this segment to itself, honda could have made an impact with the cbr150r.
Now that the r15 has just got its second wind and is easier than ever on maintainance, how many will be excited for the cbr150r when theres nothing new either in power\torque, looks or features? Since its a new release, spares will probably be heavy on the pocket as well.
All said, Id buy it for its novelty value if suzuki dont announce any plans for the segment in the near future.....and by the looks of things, suzuki is happy sleeping under a rock and occasionally farting out awkward sounding commuter 100s and 125s.
a lot of people never really expected honda to launch the cbr150r all of a sudden without any prior warning
maybe they should have launched the cbr150r and then the cbr250r

They are talking about HMC not HMSI buddyOriginally posted by srivaatsav View PostSir
They have LAUNCHED CBR 150 R so its a not a concept or whatever you say .. unlike the tapes and stripes .. and based on ONE color you are deciding the product and the manufacturer ... what do you expect apart from launches saar ?? rocket based bikes ? may be in 2090 auto expo ...
the stickering they are referring to are the ones on the White splendor and the ZMR a few pages back
Then people would only buy the 150R because it is cheaper and looks the sameOriginally posted by jonathan.pinto2008 View Post+1

HMSi launched 250R first so people can "feel" the difference and not just "See" the difference between the two
Btw the 150R isnt underpowered by any means
The 250R kindof looks underpowered compared to it (but not practically)Last edited by Nithesh; 01-06-2012, 02:47 AM.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

"THE YEAR OF THE BIKE .... 2012 is going to be real exiting for Indian Bikers with the heavyweight manufactuerers pulling out all the stops .They have understood Indian tastes and are gearing up for the same .." Cant remember but read this article somewhere.
And after all this they allowed Hero Motors to launch their Sight for Sore eyes.
Was expecting the Gsx -600/750 , CBR 600RR or CBF 600R , Yamaha R6 ..
All I seen was some pieces of metal with paint just thrown on them ...Oh yes ,the award went to HERO for screwing up the ZMR in a way only they could .
You have to admire the guys at Hero ...this debacle cant be done by just one guy ..You need a full team of RnD graphic designers to conjure something like this .
Well done HERO , sorry but in my eyes you are ZERO

I'm surprised to see Honda launching CBR150R, doesn't make lot of sense. Are they trying to take on R15, which in itself is a very limited market and on top of that you got Duke 200, which might be priced around 1.3 lakhs. Add to that, upcoming liquid cooled pulsars, in all probability be priced below 1 lakh. ZMR seems to be the obvious casualty to me.
Moreover, how are they going to produce this thing when they have backlog of 6 months on every model in production
