Add to that, upcoming liquid cooled pulsars, in all probability be priced below 1 lakh. ZMR seems to be the obvious casualty to me.

Moreover, how are they going to produce this thing when they have backlog of 6 months on every model in production
CBR150R is a faired bike. The pulsars, KTM etc are naked.
You know the junta here. Faired bikes are given more prominence over naked.
I think this is downhill, but still.

When TVS has a 250Off roader, how much its gonna do for them for the 250cc Performance Bike,,,,,,, Not sure what they have in Mind,,,,, but for some reason they are not going beyond 180

        • Went through the thread, and boy was i disappointed by hero, really they havent changed a bit,and if they have its only downhill, the ZMR couldnt look any worse and pathetic effort on the splendor, but the sad fact is that they still might have a decent market for these bikes.
And about the stunner carbon copy, i have a doubt in mind, arent theses designs patented or something ? Even though Hero and Honda have some kinda tie up till 2014 , does it include design of the bikes or just using the engines ?

Yamaha also made put with some stickering, but atleast its decent work.

TVS was disappointing, expected some adrenaline pumping release from RTR stable.

Honda has surprised as many would agree.

This years Auto Expo seems to provide more disappointment than surprise this time.

                • Now HERO has one more engine from CBR150 !
Expect atleast dozen bikes wrapped around the same engine in the next Auto Expo ! Not to mention it's already working on atleast 4-5 stickering and ugly fairing jobs like the ZMR around the current CBR 250 !
                  Way to go HERO !

                  • CBR 150R was the biggest surprise of the day 1. Specs are real good and as Honda has said that they will price it below 1.2 lacs, which according to me is the right pricing.
The R15 has finally got a serious rival and I am waiting for the day when both will be pitted against each other in SRI-PERUMBUDUR track

80% powerful as 250R?? where did you get that number from it's about 18 ps and torque is less when compared to R15.. also R15 produces both torque & power at relatively lower rpms. I guess we have enough of faired bikes now for show-off.. naked bikes are much more practical for our cities on any day. But, yeah I think ZMR will now die a slow death or it will get CBR250 engine.

Actually its not just thin air but our so called "expert" blogs which are to blame..

I have also noticed that for these "experts" any bike with a "Full Fairing" gets the peak power expectations sky high and any "Naked" bike lowers the peak power expectations

With full fairing becoming common sights, bikes like the KTM 200 Duke and Royal Enfield Cafe Racer would actually attract more attention on our roads now.

                          • CBR 150 Specs

The specs given on BSMotoring site:
The motorcycle giant has launched the CBR 150R in the country and it has a spec sheet that's hotter than a blasting furnace! The CBR 150R produces 18 bhp@10,500 rpm and 1.28 kgm@7500 rpm from its 150cc DOHC single-cylinder mill which employs liquid cooling and fuel-injection too!
Now 1.28 kgm translates to 12.54 Nm (Power & Torque Conversion)

And someplaces have given torque figures of around 18-19 Nm. Now these figures need clarifications.

Partly true; compare the Daytona with Street triple's performance.

                              • I've raced the CBR150r in the one make series at chennai this past year, although not the 2011 model. I can only speak of the pre-2011 model which was about 1bhp less. The bike has a shorter stroke so more rev happy than the r15 and had more grunt than the older r15 (marginal) but had to be revved hard to enjoy that. It didnt quite handle as good as the R15 though and i'm personally not expecting a lot of change in the handling dept with the new one either. Laptime wise the old r15 and old cbr150r were pretty much on par. The new one still uses the same chassis, key differences are FI so about 1 bhp more, different panels, 100 section front and 130 section rear tire. So overall a bigger better looking bike than the old one. I personally feel R15 will still have the edge.
