I certainly hope so. And I hope its flickable in the city. I am seriously considering getting one for fast paced commuting.

Re: AE14: Hero Moto Corp Updates from Auto Expo 2014

ok.. now we are in for another update and a disappointing update.

If you are among those (including us) who are eagerly awaiting the Hero HX250R, you are in for some disappointment. We learn from our sources that Hero MotoCorp is in no mood to introduce the HX250R before the next financial year i.e. April 2015- March 2016. The HX250R has been jointly developed by Hero MotoCorp and Erik Buell Racing (EBR) [Hero Motorcorp is a minority stakeholder in EBR]. The motorcycle made its public debut at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi.

A while ago the rumour mill was abuzz with the news of the HX250R primed for a launch before year end, one of our really reliable sources have informed us that the company has postponed the launch to FY 2015-16. The HX250R, upon its launch will be the new flagship machine for the Indian two-wheeler major, and Hero Motocorp wants to be absolutely sure about the product before it’s launched. Now, by saying that the HX250R will be launched in FY2015-16, we don’t mean that it will be launched in April 2015 – the launch may be further delayed, but it will not be launched before the aforementioned time frame for sure. So if you were waiting for the new motorcycle’s launch before making a buying decision, you would probably do well buying something else, in case you can’t wait for another 6 months.

The HX250R is supposedly powered by a 249cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, four-valve motor, which interestingly, has quite the square bore/stroke ratio more similar to a MotoGP bike’s engine. Power stands at 31 bhp, with 26 Nm of torque. The power can be transmitted to the rear wheel via two modes – Economy and Power. The HX250R also gets an impressive power-to-weight ratio thanks to the wet weight of 139 Kgs.

We expect Hero to price this motorcycle in the Rs 150,000-175,000 price bracket which is very competitive as the expected price tag of the Honda CBR300R hovers over the Rs 200,000 mark. The HX250R is likely to have a slight edge over the CBR300R as the former is lighter in weight and produces about 0.5hp more power.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates from motoring industry.

Re: AE14: Hero Moto Corp Updates from Auto Expo 2014

I seriously doubt the reliability about the news of launch period. anybody can speculate, I have feel that the engine has been already tested in the frame of karizma as a few spy pics of the 2014 zma and zmr were clicked, i noticed one bike being wider than the other.

with hero moto filling patents and busy with legal formalities, i expect the launch around the corner. even people in other forums like bad weather bikers and buell forum pointed out a launch of 2014 year end- 2015 starting.

Even i noticed one bike to be huge as compared to the other. However, what is the point in testing it in Karizma body? It has to be tested in proper environment. As in body, chassis etc. Thats the same question that was running in my mind glad someone noticed it too.. i thought my eyes were going baf

It'd be nice if you could post this spy pic here for all to see.

In this pic, if you notice the bike in front is broader than the one coming behind. To my eyes thats how it looked..

But it could be because of angle.. besides. We cant be Sir. It could be that they were testing with the Zmr engine

Its not just broader but also a bit lower in the front. And the fairing is definitely not the same on both bikes.

It could be because he is applying brakes. In that video the guy riding ahead applies brake.. but thats the same feel i got as pravin (sorry for getting your name wrong) 250cc engine being tested on Chassis and body

Yeah I did consider the braking part but the bike up front looks like it has longer suspension travel. I will watch the video you mentioned and see if I am right. What is the name of the video? Is it on YouTube?

I was able to differentiate the 2 bikes when i first saw the video, but then the name of hx was unknown. only when hero reveled the hx, we were aware of the name.
i had the same feel as rrneav1987 but i doubted my eyesight. i had the video downloaded and watched it many times. at that moment, i thought it was karizma 250. but when hero revealed it has underseat exhaust. then i started doubting it was karizma zmr. but then the bike was very low slung compared to zmr and the fairing looked different.

this made me think that the bike is being tested for a long time, probably with a fairing wider to accommodate the ebr engine but i'm sure the bike in front is not a zmr or zma. or a zma,zmr with wider faring to accomadate ebr engine

one of my chat freind is from east troy wisconsin, the heart of ebr. ebr bikes are very popular in wisconsin and 2 month ago he revealeved that some test mules of EBR bike( a smaller bike compared to 1190rx) were spotted and he was not able to click the pics. he was sure that the faired bike he spotted is not 1190rx as he is familiar wth 1190 rx. he said that he would send pics if he spots one again. this was prior hero filling patent for hx in europe and now revealing it in moto expo florida. and also ebr is setting up vechile showrooms out of wisconsin also.

Yeah one can clearly see the difference between the two bikes. As I suspected the one in front is a bit lower in the front and taller in the back then the obvious zmr following it.
