Re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014
Wanted to clarify the point regarding the R3 trademark. It's only patent for Europe and Australia. And Yamaha have still not decided whether the R25 will be a single or a twin. What they are thinking is a parallel twin 300cc for Europe and Australia and a single 25cc for the Asian market.Originally posted by Ron Syl View PostJust because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014
They have not stated this this. All the talk about single/twin are just forum based things on internet. Lets wait and see what Yamaha really shows. I hope its a twin for IndiaOriginally posted by R-series View PostWanted to clarify the point regarding the R3 trademark. It's only patent for Europe and Australia. Re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014
i really doubt that. hope its wrong :/ . whats the point in showcasing a twin when they want to launch a single. and also these info were created by few internet bike blogs. if its a single and made in india then it means it will cost lesser than speculated ( news around internet is that it will be around 2.8L - 3.2L). if its a twin then we will be happy to have a bike thats sold internationally and more chances of getting proper after market stuffsOriginally posted by R-series View PostWanted to clarify the point regarding the R3 trademark. This is not the first time Yamaha is taking up such a strategy. It's not a 10-15 year old company. It's been around from the time of Honda (only a few years later actually). This is the way they work. They have always had eyes on specific group of riders and not every rider. Look at the R15, many can't take it just cos it has aggressive riding positions. I bet there is no one who would say it looks bad or has quality issues.
Business wise it can't grow like Honda with the same approach. Yamaha doesn't come even close to threatening Honda's 2 wheeler business around the world. But for loyalists, this is the way they have to work.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014
I think Yamaha should launch parallel twin 300 CC instead of 250 twin or single, since 300CC and 250CC parallel twin cost almost same but with parallel twin 300 CC, Yamaha can able to direct completion with KTM RC390, Bajaj Pulsar SS 390, Ninja 300, Hyosung gt250r and Honda 250 ( + Triumph 250)

Re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014
Got News.
This might just be something on the grounds of the R25 concept.
Updated R125 due this week - Motorcycle news: New bikes - Visordown
They say:
YAMAHA will this week announce an updated version of its YZF-R125 sports bike, with new styling, suspension, brakes and wheels.
The popular learner model is expected to get lighter wheels, upside-down forks and a new front brake disc with radially-mounted caliper.
Styling will be revised to more closely resemble the bigger R6, with a new air-duct in the fairing nose between the headlights.
The frame and engine have not been changed.
Official details are due to be announced on Friday morning.

Good thing.. They have started updating their models. Its something, atleastOriginally posted by R-series View PostGot News.

Seems like Yamaha was really devoting their time in developing the 3-cylinder engines (i.e. MT-07 and MT-09) and now its turn for the existing models to get updated.
*heck I look like Yamaha fan-boy and advocate in delaying late updates*
Ride safe and have fun.

At least Yamaha has not named the FZ series like FZ-A, FZ-B, FZ-M, FZ-T or FZ plus, FZ pro, Super FZ etc.

Re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014
The website is from the UK (About Visordown). I don't think that they are launching this in India, although i too was excited at the prospect of seeing a good 125cc being launched in India.Originally posted by hss View PostAny updates on this new R125?
