re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014

Except the R25 (even that is not production model), Yamaha did nothing yet nothing new in their basket and whats the point of showing product those are already on road, its just a formality...., At least people are expecting production model of R25, Yamaha is over confident now....

re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014

I think its a problem of capacity with Yamaha coupled with different business strategy... While Honda on the other hand is constantly investing in new assembly lines to increase manufacturing, these guys are fully content and satiated to be selling what they are in India.

Dont even remember when Yamaha was proactive about competitive manufacturing or aggressive expansion... whatever work I see them do as for expansion, its always for the scooters and sub 150 segment... WAKE UP YAMAHA.

re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014

Okay.. so after all the big Razzmatazz we have an "Alfa" in hand with Ray engine and an "Activa" like body. So much so for the hope of a 'sporty 125 CC scooter' which was fueled by their India management only, in terms of 'heavy concentration on the scooter market in India' to gain a sizable market share. As for the R25, I have shown the pictures to my son and told him "some day you will get married and have a kid. When he / she reaches 18 years of age and asks you to buy him/her a low capacity 'sports bike' look around, this bike may just be launched around that time."Cheers and best wishes for Yamaha.. They do have 'long term plans' for India

re: AE14: Yamaha India Update at Auto Expo 2014

basically auto expo is meant to be showcased. not exactly launch. they showcased the bike, atleast we should be happy that they are considering a 250cc bike for india. this is a step forward, they have a prototype so they showcased. i am sure there would be a lot more criticism and disappointments if this showcase had not happened. many bikes were shown, but they didnt tell when they will be launched. few manufacturers went on to say they will launch end of the year or next year. you guys just cant keep expecting the production version overnight from the date they showcased the concept. the race in 200-400cc segment is still going on with CBR250r ,D200, D390, 200ns. now if we consider things and compare them based on price/cc/power/quality then the respective bikes lead the race in their own way. showcasing a bike without tests is different than launching the bike after tests. i am pretty sure even after r25 is launched people will crib on the waiting period/Pricing/design/power/blahh blahh. so stop complaining, start saving! at the end of the day chose the bike worth your money, be happy.

forgot to tell: wait till july!

If they don't have any new ideas, they should consider atleast introducing the Star Motocycle series in India. They are priced very reasonably, the reviews are awesome. But nothing happens. Damn Yamaha.

Seriously, it's HIKE time Yamaha gives something that people want rather than stupid cosmetic upgrades and scooter segment. . . If this goes on then they will be like how Suzuki are presently, getting sales only with their scooters. . .

                          Cheers!!!

Haha, well yamaha wont care for such concerns also. for them it will be like "WHO CARES".
Surprisingly such people will die for yamaha at the end of the day.

And even then also they will sell there scooters and so called cosmetic bikes too.
