Re: Yamaha MT-09 Launched At 1020000/-
It's not just a marketing fail but Yamaha's failure. They have even capped distributors on the stock they are supplied.Originally posted by RoyalIndian View PostR3 dint fail. It was just unsuccessful. Not enough marketing. Track-cum-City bike design (I personally believe for this very reason they did not launch MT03) and no ABS even as optional. This is my understanding. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

I meant failure as unsuccessful. I couldn't think of any further reason too. I believe ABS is just an excuse for the people who are trying to blame. May be they are nothing making much out of the R3 financially and they are afraid of the same with MT03 as well. I was quite waiting for it after hearing all the issues with the Benelli 300 and cost of its maintenance. Now I'm left with no choice.Originally posted by RoyalIndian View PostR3 dint fail. Yep you are right. ABS is really not needed in Sub-400cc category I would say. My cut off for ABS would be 400cc. (Hence it justifies the KTM 390s having ABS).Originally posted by sman999 View PostI meant failure as unsuccessful. I couldn't think of any further reason too. Re: Yamaha MT-09 Launched At 1020000/-
Everybody moaning about R3's failure. First think that this is not a bike which every average joe can afford, period! And the performance it offers at the price tag, people are often confused why not go for a ninja 650 or benelli 600 sibblings by adding couple of more lakhs. Yamaha not advertising it has nothing to do with the failure of the sales. Performance oriented guys will anyways buy it wether it is advertised or not advertised. And by the way how many ninja 300 and benelli 300 you see on road ? Are they a failure too. These bikes are for niche market and its focused on specific customers. So if the ratio is less, don't think that the bike or the company failed. It is consumer who failed to understand. Yamaha has priced it very nicely for a twin pot CKD no questions on that.
Cheers,
Sanjay

Look if you go to a Benelli Showroom they offer you a test ride. So let's say I wish to test ride a R3 now, to decide on my choice. But do they have one? No! Why is that? Aren't they concerned abt it? No they are not cuz they don't give a shit about their premium segment customers. Atleast in the tier A cities they must make the test ride vehicle mandatory at least in one showroom. Thats why we say they are not interested in promoting the product.Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostEverybody moaning about R3's failure. I agree pricing is a delight. Spares are cheap. They have a wide network but they are putting it to proper use. If we ask the dealers about the R3 they say explain some capping shit.. Don't know if they just blaming the Yamaha for their fault or its just the real case.
FYI Benelli is promoting very hard in social networking sites. Again Ninja is not concentrating much cuz they don't make a living out of the Indian market.Ride Safe!

Capping of numbers, this could be related to the competency of SVC in handling big bikes. And trust me, any bike is spolied with incompetent SVC so limiting the numbers to specific dealers is actually a good idea, which will keep the customer happy.
Benelli has to promote to gain market as they are not known to Indian folks when compared to Japs. People are used to the names of HONDA, Yamaha and suzuki and kawasaki as well.
And even yamaha is not making a living when they are selling R3 in India

Sanjay

In Chennai no rest ride is available! Why can't they arrange one test ride in any one showroom across chennai to be able for potential buyers to get a taste of it? Network is a main concern for which many would choose yamaha over other brands as they can get their ride checked out more easily. So training mechanics is not a big thing when you have a established network. It's not a failure as a machine, it's just their don't wanna sell kinda attitude that bothers me.Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostCapping of numbers, this could be related to the competency of SVC in handling big bikes. Point. Agreed!Benelli has to promote to gain market as they are not known to Indian folks when compared to Japs. People are used to the names of HONDA, Yamaha and suzuki and kawasaki as well.
That's exactly my point so they are not interested in promoting. When they are not eager in selling it why did they launch it in the first place? Either do something properly, I mean commit to it or don't.And even yamaha is not making a living when they are selling R3 in IndiaRide Safe!

This is going a bit too much off the topic, anyway, you can try something- Go to Yamaha's website, find customer feedback/complaint section and write to them. I did it twice earlier [2010-2011] and it was taken care of quite well and promptly. See, if it helps!

It's Yamaha Guduvanchery (Vardhaman Motors) at No. 225/A GST Road, Guduvanchery 603202. Tel: 044-47490035. Do mind its 30+ KMs away from the city!Originally posted by sman999 View PostOh! I thought r3 was soo exclusive, that there isn't even a showcase model, let alone a test drive..Originally posted by iVinay View PostIt's Yamaha Guduvanchery (Vardhaman Motors) at No. 225/A GST Road, Guduvanchery 603202. Tel: 044-47490035. Do mind its 30+ KMs away from the city!
