CHENNAI BIKERS: The Grand Indian Roadtrip will be visiting Chennai soon and we request all bikers and xBhpians to join in the ride on Sunday the 8th of April from UTHANDI (FIRST TOLL GATE) ON ECR AT 6.30 AM. We will ride to HOTEL MAMALLA while enjoying the beaches etc en route.
Post that we will be having the Fix and Flick meet.Strict 2x2 formation and general safety rules to be followed. No stunts.

It has been an interesting day for bikes & bikers both. The route from Madurai to Chennai was smooth, butter smooth so to say. Riding FZ1 was fun.

SLK too, for the first time, enjoyed a good open stretch. We have reached Chennai and have a long stay here. Lots of exciting things scheduled here....

The GIR Team is halfway through

Day 23 ? April 2, 2012 ? Kanyakumari and around

Text: Abhishek Bhatt Photo: Sunil Gupta & Sundeep Gajjar/motoGrapher.com On the road and beyond The Trivandrum chapter of the GIR went beyond our expectations. The ride to Neyyar Dam went well and then some riders decided to join us till Kanyakumari (or Kanniakumari) which further cemented the biking bond amongst all of us. Kanyakumari is the southern most town of INDIA and the mainland ends here. The serenity and beauty of the place sets it apart from other coastal cities. Our original plan was to move out of Kanyakumari the very next day but we were so enamored by the sheer attraction of the endless sea that is visible from the place (and also our hotel rooms) that we decided to spend an extra day there. After experiencing a heavenly sunset, when every other thing took a backseat and we could realize the goodness of our earlier decision of spending more time here. The agenda for this day was to celebrate the successful completion of first leg of the trip. Day24 ? April 3, 2012 ? Kannyakumari to Madurai

Text: Abhishek Bhatt Photos: Sunil Gupta & Sundeep Gajjar/motoGrapher.com Yes today was the day when I got up at 0530hrs to get a glimpse of rising sun from behind the horizon.. but when I came to the balcony of the room, there was a big grey cloud which was hiding the sun behind it. The one redeeming factor being the lightning flashing through the cloud at short intervals. It was still dark and I was enjoying sitting in the balcony, a cool breeze blowing in from the sea and the world around me slowly waking up to a brand new day. I knew that the view would be short lived not just because the day would get brighter but also that we were to be on the road to Madurai in an hour or so. This was the view which I was seeing for the last time in this trip, as after 2 hrs we were to leave Kannyakumari for Madurai. So finally all got ready to ride and hit the road as the day was yet cool. Just some 10 kms past Kanyakumari on NH47, there was a profusion of windmills in farmland on both sides of the highway.
