    This wont help.

They will say that you have a bike worth 12 lakhs and are not willing to spend even 100 Rs worth of petrol.

He might even end up being called a kanjoos(miser)

No but basically no everywhere you get Speed 97. So say them sorry boss "No Petrol" coz its a special petrol that is very limited.

for those who don't have a sbk now but plan to get one in a distant future and are not willing to let anyone drive it, start now.. don't let anyone touch your current bike.. even if its a 100cc splendor (bad example there). and make sure people know about your love for your ride. the moment you get a sbk no-one will bother to ask you

Send this link to all those that you think may come up asking to ride your bike. Put a covering note in the email:
"A close friend of mine had a similar experience giving his sbk to his relative. If I were in his place I would have hung the relative to the nearest lamp post".

all my friends honestly and sincerely know that i ride my bikes in a particular way, and i like it that ways. A number of times they have asked from me to take the bike with them for a couple of days ( with bikes parked, you cant really avoid it also ). My simplest answer is no, and to also emphasize on the fact, that if they crash it, a) i will feel bad, and i will have to get my bike repaired, even if they offer to pay for it. b) my friend got hurt.

So best option is to avoid hard feelings, and not ask for something that i dont wanna give. simple.

If i trust the person, his/her judgement of riding/motorcycle handling skills etc, then its a different scenario.

But this is a scene best avoided amongst friends.

Also keep it under wraps, when your cousins/relatives are around. Dont show off then! Simple. If they say they want a ride, tell em, its not running properly, so thats why even you are not riding it, and have kept it under wraps, and are waiting for rossi/hayden to come and figure out whats wrong with the bike.

I do not own a superbike. Only a ZMR, which many people ask for a ride.
I've this reply for them which always works:

"My dad bought me this bike, and when he asked me for a ride, I didn't even give him because I love my bike very much!"

In case you bought the bike with your own 'hard-earned' money, read this experience of mine:

The fast food wala beside our college where we usually have our lunch asked me for a ride. I told him, "these two are my best friends (pointing towards my 2 friends) and they never laid their hands on my bike till date. If I give you, then they'll .............."
From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

I dont think this situation only applies to SBK owners.
Im very fond and particular about my things and dont like it when ppl mess with it...ive always somehow found excuses but i must have hurt few of them.

i know i would think a 100 times before i would give my SBK(if i had) to anyone and that is why i have never asked any SBK owner for a ride.

well basically you will have to hurt them a little and i guess its worth it

but then if it is a proper rider asking me even if he hasn't ridden SBK's..i would allow him!

Only 4-5 ppl have ridden my RTR 180 other than myself. Even my dad and brother keeps away from it! Only you can know how to handle a person. Just like at times we turn down a friends invite to go for a movie without hurting them, we can say no nicely.

Put in a secondary kill switch, preferably hidden.

And say that your sbk only starts for you. If they don't believe you then let them try starting it for as long as they want.
(but this might only work if the sbk was parked.)

But then you can go around this if you have a kill switch which engages everytime you stop and will need to be remotely reset for the bike to start.

Might be a lot of money, but it is also a good safety device to deter thiefs.

True that, seen the above person in action.

Most of the time replying in negative, just does the job. SBK or BK, it puts off people, especially friends and relatives. Just stick to your guns.

                              I do not own a superbike !

                              1) place a sticker on your sbk which says "Dont ask me for a ride"
                              2) Tell them that, the riding pattern differs from person to person and imported bikes get accustomed to only one persons riding pattern and you dont wanna spoil that.
                              3) Safety gear is required
                              4) You are not experienced so do not try on this bike as it can prove dangerous !
