In my opinion, you dont have to be rude to deny a person a ride in your bike no matter how big, small or special the bike is. As long as your objective is only to turn down the ride for whoever is asking...

A simple no might suffice. If they ask repetitively and you do not prefer to offer them a ride, you can say, 'i know you ride carefully, but my bike matters a lot to me and i am not interested in the idea of sharing it, i hope you understand'. They may get disappointed with this reply but it is better than having to hurt them by being rude, isn't it?

A Sport/super bike is a thing that spreads happiness. It brings more joy to the people that see it on the road, when it is in the parking lot, at the traffic lights, etc. There have been many curious people who ask me many questions about my GT whenever i pull up next to them, has also happened many times when i was hurrying to work and was actually running late. I always make sure to answer each and every bit of their questions till they are done and its heart warming to see that person smile since someone on an SBK was patiently listening to what they were asking and replying to all they wanted to ask.

When someone asks me for a ride, they either have to be very close to me or i might let them - provided i know for sure that i am absolutely confident of their abilities. No one wants their bike to take a fall, whether it is SBK or not. At the least, i think it is better to either offer them a pillion ride or politely turn them down.

Being rude to a fellow bike-maniac takes away the harmony of being a biker.

      Well spoken my friend!
I remember the day I got my R15 (the bike was unknown to the public at that time), atleast 50-60 people rode it, many of whom I had never met before!
God was very kind&nobody fell or even touched anywhere. I guess they were very careful.
If that is the case&people are confident, I guess we should let them ride it in a safe area. After all, its just a bike, even if it is 20L.
I even gave my brand new Verna to some 10-15 friends who wanted to try it out.
But we need to tell them umpteen no. of times that its not like a regular bike, don't press the front brakes too hard, etc.
I remember the others shouting to the one who was going for a ride-be careful, there are 2 discs!
So, the key is in being safe, not too safe!
      Quench my thirst with gasoline!

i am ok with anyone who has responsible and have idea of SBK handling .. and at least ridden once ...

see its not about the refusing the ride .. its about ppl who don;t know how to ride a big bike [power bikes].... u can't ride a R1 if u know how to ride spledor .. it requires calculations and responsibility and respect for the bike.

if person who rides big bikes ask for a small spin on ur bike ..then its not that he is try to pose .. its only he wants to calculate something out of it.. it may be comparison to his bike .. or ride quality..or even the fear

Not many people will ask for a ride on a regular bike cause its common. SBK is something that are rare and few, thats why the urge to ask for a ride. On a regular bike the weight/acceleration is something that most people are used to and so can be handed over for a spin if the person knows how to ride a bike.
SBK on the other hand is an unknown beast and a small flick of wrist and you are asking for trouble for yourself/others on road and the bike. Even is there is no damage to the person, damage to the bike, if any, will run the repair bills into a huge amount. How many of your friends/relatives will be ready to shell out the money for repairs if the amount is in tune of lakhs.
I've had many instances where friends/relatives asked me for a ride and I've had to say no (politely) or just smile it off and pretend that the conversation never happened. Have also given it for a ride to people who am sure will be able to handle the power and am comfortable with. Initially felt awkward refusing but now it comes naturally

Most people are too short to straddle my bike AND be able to keep both tip-toes on the ground, so that automatically excludes any ride requests.
Who needs more than 70 bhp when you don't need to slow down for the corners?

Under any circumstances guys, you have to be choosy in terms of whom you will allow to ride your Sbk.
You can't allow just any couzin who asks for a ride. Otherwise, be ready for the bills and probably, a dead sibling too.

Yes, some of my friends (the more talented ones) can ride my bike if they seem to be paying heed to my advice I give them before they ride. After all, money is a recoverable loss, but life isn't. So, be discreet and don't hesitate to give a pillion ride, while refusing for the rider seat.

BTW Do we have anyone in Xbhp who won't even give pillion ride on Sbk to friends?

Lol, this sentence is almost like a girl announcing that she's single!
Because, now you're gonna get a lot of friendship requests!
