A very sad thing to happen. But what about the address of the thief given to ICICI Bank, is it the same as in the DL ? Did you get the address checked by somebody in Bangalore ? Will definitely spread a word about it. All the Best & hope you find it in the same condition.
Was the bike transferred to the name of the thief?
No man. Only a sale agreement was exchanged between my friend and the thief. Besides, he would never want to transfer it in his name. I really doubt that.
The reason why i said television was that:-
1) sbks are rare and a hot time news anytime on t.v.
2) a stollen sbk attracts even more attention on the news that is seen my mostly aunties (who wanted their uncles own it sometime) and so intresting and a hot topic. also, it attracts the most attention compared to any other media.
3) it will definately put a lot of pressure on the cops for some action..
4) you could alert a whole town of such a bike with your rewards scheme.
the greed of reward will definately help in getting back your bike and plus you have the picture of the a$$hole so it will definately give you a lot of leads for catching the thief.
plus who knows, the guy might call you up asking you to takeback the case and payup the ammount!!!!! (thats a very rare case to happen but still)
edit: if this thing had happend with my bike i would have personally got on the tele for my bike which is actually a punny 150 the point is try everything thats gonna get back the bike
WOW rockrz! I didn't know this at all. Very good insights there buddy. Appreciate a ton! Thanks!

They were different addresses apparantly, and the address with the bank is yet to be verified. I don't have an update on that yet. The address on the DL was verified, and though the address is correct, this thief doesn't stay there anymore. Thanks very much for spreading the world dg76! I was hoping that someone would highlight it in bangalore.

Did you try & get in touch with their neighbours in BTM Layout for any new addresses or whereabouts ?

No idea G D. Guess they left without a trace. For all you know, they must have had that address few years back, when they got the licence. Our biggest concern is that bike is still in hyderabad. Police have been notified, and the check posts will be on the lookout. So let's see. I am hoping to get some feedback over this weekend. Keep you guyz posted.
Ask cops to speak to ICICI bank people and ask them to track the atm locations and the transactions taken place after the crime, if they using one atm frequentlly, cops have a chance to nab them.

I doubt that bud. And i feel they wouldnt dare to ride it out of the state. It would be moving out in a container or some huge truck and in that case even the cops wont be able to do much. One point that i thnk every one has missed out > get in touch with all local sbk dealers in hyd / sec...m sure your friend knows a few of them. there are plenty of dealers in town who deal with sbk's...i kinda get a feeling if the rat tries to sell d bike the news wld sumhw land up in one of these dealers ears. (they have their own close circle).... speak to a few of emm, offer a good reward and they might just callya with a good news. Good luck mate !!

Another good one from vinu!
Also do get in touch with the transport guys who ship bikes. Tell them subtlety that you know who's who in the police top brass and they might screw the happiness of the transporter who might ship "stolen goods".
I dont know whether this works, but do try with the DRI (if this one has come in a proper way into INDIA!!). Ask them to seize the bike, you go show the papers(if you have the papers which you got while shipping them to india while dealing with customs and all...) and claim your bike.
