^^ good point there. but for all you know, the bike might just be across the country by now being sold in some other metro. for a cool 3-4lakhs, and the thieves pocketing a good 2L margin for themselves.

Absolutely right bhargava_sr! This goes on to say that how much the sbks, esp the 600s are in demand. This creates enough niche for thieves to make a quick profit.Originally posted by bhargava_sr View PostWhat a loss of the beauty, I pray God that your friend get backs his bike as earliest. These thieves should be punished to hell.
I beleive this is the other konika minolta edition in hyderabad mike_usa. THe guy you are describing must have been a very lean, thin guy. I've also seen him wear a white shirt once in a while and he never wears a helmet, only a cap. Man, lets see, fingers crossed.Originally posted by mike_usa View Post@bking dude saw a white cbr600rr near b-hills road no2 at 6-7 pm 08/20/2010 a guy wearin hyderabadii white dress with white cap was ridin it.there is a prayer plc close by so i think this guy goes there!!! so if u stake out this plc u may c this guy again on the bike. hope this helps

It is the same edition, but this is a different bike onlinesatish. My friend's bike has the registration number on the visor, above the 56. Besides, my friend is not in the drag stuff. He's just a early sunday morning or evening rider. But yes, the color and decals are the same. So let's keep looking out.Originally posted by onlinesatish View Posthave seen this bike at Deccan 1/4 drag....some more pics of the bike!
Hope its the same bike!
I doubt that bud. And i feel they wouldnt dare to ride it out of the state. It would be moving out in a container or some huge truck and in that case even the cops wont be able to do much. One point that i thnk every one has missed out > get in touch with all local sbk dealers in hyd / sec...m sure your friend knows a few of them. there are plenty of dealers in town who deal with sbk's...i kinda get a feeling if the rat tries to sell d bike the news wld sumhw land up in one of these dealers ears. (they have their own close circle).... speak to a few of emm, offer a good reward and they might just callya with a good news. Good luck mate !![/QUOTE]Originally posted by MadMax46 View PostNo idea G D. Guess they left without a trace. For all you know, they must have had that address few years back, when they got the licence. Our biggest concern is that bike is still in hyderabad. Police have been notified, and the check posts will be on the lookout. So let's see. I am hoping to get some feedback over this weekend. Keep you guyz posted.
Cheers.
Thank you madmax46. The dealers have all been informed in the hyderabad area. Everybody in my friend's superbike group have been highlighted, including friends, dealers, etc. But as you pointed out, you can bribe away anybody to hide it in a container, this really worries me. I believe in miracles, so really hoping that my friend find it.
Yes satan69in, the 56 is common in all bikes. Its part of the konica minolta edition.Originally posted by satan69in View Postis that front visor number "56" common in all bikes?if not then it must surely be the same one posted by satish
My friend is prepared for this also. he said he would get in touch with the DRI. But as another buddy pointed out here in xbhp, what if its being transported to another country? that is my biggest concern now.Originally posted by kkrk2 View Postgood point!!!
just have check with the AP RTA website whether the bike is still on your friend's name.
The AP number plate website only works for AP registered vehicles kkrk2. My friend's bike is an MH registration.
Another good one from vinu!
Also do get in touch with the transport guys who ship bikes. Tell them subtlety that you know who's who in the police top brass and they might screw the happiness of the transporter who might ship "stolen goods".
I dont know whether this works, but do try with the DRI (if this one has come in a proper way into INDIA!!). Ask them to seize the bike, you go show the papers(if you have the papers which you got while shipping them to india while dealing with customs and all...) and claim your bike.
Hey addyrulz01, could you tell me when the girl saw it? Because, if it were many weeks back, it could have been my friend itself who was riding. If it were in the last week, then could you please ask the girl for the date? It woudl really help out.Originally posted by addyrulz01 View Postupdate - the bike was spotted near hitec city which is near inorbit mall. got this information through my friends girlfriend . hope this helps
Fingers crossed svjhonda....my thoughts exactly! This really hurts man, I can't imagine the plight of my friend.Originally posted by svjhonda View PostDamn yaar. I am praying your friend gets the bike back safe and sound. Even if it is at the cost of the thief escaping.

Well onlinesatish, let him watch the thread! Certainly, he's going to be planning other moves but he will have restless nights I am certain. He won't sleep peacefully. If other scamsters are also watching this, let this be a lesson. They better think twice before making an attempt to steal a bike. This thief might be watching, but let him not rest a moment from agony. Let him struggle even harder to try to escape. Rest assured, the idiots photo is out....he cannot put his head out in public at peace easily! Serves the $#&#$$%^ right!Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostI guess there is a chance that theif might be watching this thread, if he had gone to such lenghts to steal that bike, then am sure he must be knowing abt xbhp. just my thought!
Yes jd666, this is my concern. There are so many innocent kids, in the late teen ages who do not know the intricacies or formalities of getting such a bike. They will be lured into buying it for a cheap price. This is the main purpose of posting this thread. Let people become aware! let them think twice before buying a bike for cheap price. If something is too good to be true, well, it probably isn't.Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ good point there. but for all you know, the bike might just be across the country by now being sold in some other metro. for a cool 3-4lakhs, and the thieves pocketing a good 2L margin for themselves.
Yes guyz, please ask that girl at which date she saw the bike. It would really help out!Originally posted by kkrk2 View PostI hope you have read the first post and informed the actual owner(harish) about this. BTW, did your girlfriend check the number plate, which is MH 06 AT 2803??
Overall gentlemen, there is a lesson to be learnt from all this. I have discovered some important info in getting a used superbike in India. I would like to share it all with you. This is one of the important purpose of websites like xbhp. Let us become aware! Here are some lessons I've learnt:
1. Never buy a used superbike that only has a registration papers! This can be bought just by paying a bribe. This also applies to places like maharashtra where there are smart card systems. A smart card or an RC with the bikes name, owner and other description doesn't mean its a legal bike! My friend was also a victim of this ploy.
2. A genuine superbike will have two important documents among all other papers: A bill of landing and an invoice price sheet that assesses the price of the bike and its respective taxes. The bill of landing is the proof a vehicle entered legally into the country. It is a big piece of paper, about the size of a newspaper that is folded into two or four folds.
When someone wishes to sell you a bike, first ask if they have BILL OF LANDING! If they don't, then don't even bother looking at the bike
3. The invoice paper has a determined value of the bike. Make sure that in the invoice has atleast Rs. 2 lakhs (about $ 5 to 6K) paid in duty if the bike was brought in used. This prevents any form of trouble in the future, because it ensures that the duty paid was reasonable, depending up the used bike's life. Again, read above, AT LEAST 2 lakhs or above. So the invoice price can be higher as well.
4. Now, someone says that the bike does not have bill or landing, or invoice sheet, but they may say that they have DRI clearance. Now what does this mean? This means that DRI had confescated the bike, but the owner was compelled to get it back, by paying the appropriate taxes and fines. This makes sense because there's no point in DRI keep the bike for themselves and letting it rot. The DRI therefore, issues a clearance certificate where it clearly expresses the taxes paid, including the fine. When you see the clearance certifcate, please check with DRI is all the info is true. The DRI has offices across all metro and this can be verified.
VERY IMPORANT
Many shady dealers/brokers tell buyers (esp young guyz) that its best not the transfer the bike into your name. This is because, most of the guyz like to ride these bikes at high speeds, and in the event that they crash into someone, that ends up in killing the victim, they might as well run away from that situation. Because if they get caught, they will be jailed for ever!
What kind of a bull$**t excuse it this people?!?!?!
As much as I hate to admit this, my friend was a victim of this crap when he bought the bike! What they need to realize is that its in the better interest of the shady dealer/broker to tell you this because by scaring you, he ensures that you don't ask for more formalities. The desire to own such a bike, really blinds some people in thinking about the consequences!
Let me assure you that even if you hit someone on your bike or car, it would be regarded as an accident and you would not be in much trouble if you went to the police station first hand confessed it. Of course, you will face several formalities, but you face such formalities. You save yourself from all the trouble about getting caught later, and moreover, you will have peace of mind.
So please transfer the bike in your name. I know this may sound strange as these are basic formalities, but trust me guyz, after going through a lot of research after my friend's bike got stolen, I am shocked at many of his friends who have NOT registered the bikes in their names!
5. And lastly, here's soemthing to keep in mind. Let's say you are buying a used SBK, such as a 2007 suzuki gsx R 600. This recently got sold in AP for 6.5 L recently. The ex-shoroom price of this bike is about $ 8.5K new (about 4.5 L). With 105% duty, that brinks the bike upto 9 to 9.5L on road in india after registrations, taxes etc. So its three years old, so considering basic depreciation of 15%, 12% and 10% for the past three years, the best buying prices of the bike would be (approximate estimate locally) 8.1 L in 2008, 7.15 L in 2009 and 6.45 L in 2010. This makes sense because the proper clean paper gsxr 600 sold for 6.5 lakhs recently! So any value below this, you have to become aware of the shadiness that's prevalent with the bike. You have many guyz quoting 5 to 6 L for these 600cc bikes and you can bargain for a low 5 L..but you won't end up with a clean bike.
I am hoping that the above info helps. Please spread the word around. Let us learn from this.
Cheers,

When you can see a bike like R1, CBR are bought in pieces here and assembled and sold here illegally...you can imagine what could have been happened to the CBR600..!
Its not tough to get the bike repainted, Hyderabad has good painters who can do topclass job in decent amounts of 10K.
As other guys stated..The bike could have be ripped off to parts and transported to other locations like Bangalore/Pune/Mumbai (usually) in a large carboard boxes..and there are many private buses that do overnight journey to these locations with out any check by the Bus staff or the police check posts.
The typical things that these kind of people do is, they do not operate from the city in the job is done, they usally operate from ciy outskirts, So have a thorough check on City out skirts like NH7 and NH9 city exits at Shamshabad and BHEL/Patancheru respectively. Browse through the mechanic shops around.
It becomes very hard for even to cops to trace out one the bike has changed its appearance and moved to another city.
Its already been near to 20 days since the jobs was done! So in worst case..the bike has been already moved to another city in pieces..or in teh best case..the bike is in city and waiting for a new prospective buyer.

hey dude,i saw the bike just an hour back..i called up your friend asap..that same guy in pic was riding it..he was wearing a maroon tshirt and blue jeans and some pillion guy too...he removed the rear no plate and front sticker registration...he was coming down from kairathabad flyover and was going through the junction towards panjagutta..while going through teh junction,he saw the traffic cops and increased his speed...i have clearly seen that idiot's face....i coudnt follow then as i was stuck in traffic signal..when i went to the traffic police(some guy with 3 stars on his flaps) and informed him,hes said ki why i dint follow him
what the bloody hell,is that the way a cop speaks? he dint even radio it over to any other cop...if he would have done his job and told the police guys over at erramanzil junction and panjagutta junction,he would have been nabbed...and after that hes telling me to go file a complaint in panjagutta police station that i saw the bike...i am so ashamed of these bloody buggers who call themselves as cops and only do their duty if money is thrown on their retarded face or if some authority is shown...disgusting

My thoughts were exactly the same as@riazmomin .The sbk business is done in underground and its a huge business.Meaning the whole shebang!! Just like in movies it is done with corruption as an ally .So it won't be of much help pleading with the cops. They need incentives ,otherwise its as good as banging your head against the wall.Besides they seem experienced guys who know these things well, hence they conned the guy and are still moving around freely!!
I am sorry to say this ,but i am 100 % in agreement with what riazmomin has said.
These conns aren't stupid guys !! They know the system and are confident of dealing with it .Hence posing for the pic and not even bothering to lay low for a while .
Please try giving some incentives to the cops and do some tracing yourselves and let the cops make an entry at the climax!!
Lets just hope that it doesn't end up in a chop-shop .If it does then i am afraid that'd be the end of it.
I am sorry for being so outright.Last edited by gixxer_junkie_m; 08-27-2010, 07:48 PM.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!
