    I like Fully Faired bikes. They look beautiful to me.
    Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

      There is no doubt or 2nd thoughts about it when it comes to choosing my dream bike - it has to be a fully faired Super Sport (cc no bar). I like some naked though but I absolutely hate semi faired bikes.

      I think we are missing a catergory in the polls ie. choppers & cruisers.

            Can i share my POV with u?
            I have not owned any sbks, but i have been on a 600 and a litre bike.

            A motorcycle for me is more than just a vehicle.If it wasn't, i would rather buy a Splendor or CBZ! It is an extension of my personality.I like my bikes to look good,even when they are parked.

            There are two perspectives of bike riding. Rider and spectator.A rider does not feel the same effect of design philosophy as much as a spectator does.

            I am a kind of technology guy.I am fascinated by cool lighting on silvery gadgets,i pods,iphone,etc. I am also a futurist kind of guy. Sci-fi is also my fav thing.

            I associate a fully faired motorcycle to something technologically advanced or shall we say futuristic? A big faired bike,low lying mass, with angry eyes rolling towards you with a huge howl is my heaven.This is spectator's perspective.
            The same big machine rocketing to 100 in blink of an eye is also a heady feeling. I also associate that feeling with technology and advancement.
            This is rider's perspective!

            I say that naked bikes are analogue while sportsbikes are digital! [figuratively]

            So there you go! I don't think the same feeling can be given by a naked or a cruiser! [in my opinion]
            I hope i may have helped u to some extent!

            edit:u can have a look in the Gixxer K9 thread to get my idea!

              Thats a nice one....

              Naked = Raw
              Faired = Civilized

                Well one thing I would like to add is that this was a very good topic to start a new discussion about in the current Indian bike industry context. Now that the R15 is a reality I think the days of the half heartedly built semi faired bikes bikes like the Karizma or P220 with age old design chassis underneath are nearly numbered. I'am sure most companies will be looking at this thread with an idea to know what we actually want. I think given any Indian bike none before the R15 had a fairing or chassis which was purpose built. In terms of real enthusiat class technology is concerned the bike get 10/10 marks from me. I think it created the beginning for fully faired bikes being launched in India from now on....I'am definitely keeping my fingers crossed..

                  I would think most passionate bikers feel that way, irrespective of the kind of bike they ride!

                  Let me just say this, No digital watch ever made comes close to the feeling of my Analog Omega Seamaster!

                        I don't particularly discriminate between fairings when it comes to making a choice between bikes. Although fairings do have their functional uses in areas of aero, it restricts the range of roads and terrain you can ride your bike on. Of course, you could always throw the fairings away and ride, but you don't really want to do that.

                        I absolutely enjoyed your description of your opinion and had a good laugh by the way

                          There's a category between Faired & un-faired.

                          The semi-faired would be my choice...
                          They combine the best of both worlds...
                          They are neither too powerful like the fully faired ones,
                          nor are they under powered.
                          Also they have decent torque figures...which would be enough for touring.
                          The Best Part, they get you enough attention, without being TOOO loud.

                            Faired bikes.
                            I like the sleek look of a faired bike.

But it is a pricey bike. How it sells remains to be seen.
