you did not get my point there. may be i did not put in the right way.Originally posted by sunnykapoor2003 View Postis fairing hides power you must understand the concept of naked bike & faired bike man
i meant you have a beautiful powerful engine and you are hiding with the fairing. flaunt the beautifully crafted engine than hiding it. nowadays we get blankets(fairings) covering single cylinder pulsars and zmas into cbrs and what not.
hope it was not that tough this timeBikes don't spill oil, they mark their territory.

I see. Well, I saw some of it's torque curves and you are right ... It has some 10-12 bhp right at 2000 rpm. That's acceptably fine, unlike regular Supersports 600s ...Originally posted by v_310 View Post^^ check out the honda VFR 800. It's exactly what you want

Nice find. I hope Honda brings it officially ...

the VFR is a v-4 (not an inline 4) with v-tec. Above 6500 rpm, an additional two valves begin to operate (2 valves /cly at <6500 rpm and 4 valves/cly >6500 rpm). That gives it a very unique torque characterestics ideal for touring and city commuting!Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostI see. Well, I saw some of it's torque curves and you are right ... When the import rules were relaxed, I thought this would definitely be one of the bikes honda would be getting into the country - they've however gone tooth and nail against yamaha (R1 vs. 1000RR and MT-01 vs CB 1000R).
Theoretically tho, it is possible to own a fully legal VFR here - just need the moolah

I am a late comer to this forum. Hmmm... naked or faired? Interesting indeed. I am confused, too. If I had the money I would have 'em both. Although personally, I like faired a shade more. I Looked hard for one and having failed to find one in my budget, settled for a naked one. A vintage '89 Honda CBX 750.
Although faired is more desirable, naked have these advantages. One, no fairing means not to worry about breakign one in a fall. Two, upright riding position easy on one's back. Three, visibility of that muscular beauty of an engine ( provided there are 4 cylinders ).
Faired look great, too. But there is just one problem. The other day I got fooled by a Pulsar turned into a CBR600, complete with disks all around and fat tyres. Damn thing was so close to the original that only a close long hard look by an enthusiast can "spot the not" next to a real one. That is deflating indeed. Think of a guy who spends 12-13 lakhs on a bike only to be mistaken it for a run-of-the-mill Pulsar or a ZMA. I have seen lot of such "fabricated" R1s, CBRs, GSXs and ZXs. These days when you see a faired bike you feel like asking the guy-"fairing ke peecchey kya hai, fairing ke peecche? 1 cylinder ya 4 cylinder?" That is because R1s, CBRs, GSXs and ZXs are diminutive in size and not very big from Pulsars and ZMAs. Adding fairing and fat tyres to the latters bring 'em to the size of the formers. In fact, corect me if I am wrong but I think even R6 and R1 are of the same size. Similarly CBR600 and CBR1000 appear to be of same size. But then there are big faired bikes like Hayabusa and ZZR1400 which are just HUUUGE. It is difficult to turn Pulsars and ZMAs into a Busa or a ZZR.
So someday, not in a distant future , I will go for a Busa or a ZZR. So what if they are impractical, too fast, unwieldly. At least, they cannot be mistaken for anything else.

Naked All The Way
There is no way you can comfortably ride a fully faired bike around here
I have replaced the clip ons on the gpz900r with custom touring handles. then too its a 250kg 145bhp handful in Mumbai traffic
After riding the bike into town and back to Juhu, I took out the Suzuki Inazuma 400 to go buy bread. It felt like riding an RX100 in comparison to the Kawasaki
The attention a faired bike gives you is also to much. So here it has to be a naked. Out of India though it would have to be a touring bike in the 1100xx, st1300 or FJR mould
