The uk site doesnt show it as a 2009 model , us site shows similar price for both the models

The sticker price is the same in the US, but dealer discounts are more for the FZ6, and insurance is higher on the FZ6R from what I gather.

EDIT: I'd rather buy a Triumph Street Triple for the same money more or less. Faster and much more fun

First I do not understand why you are being so defensive about liking naked bikes. Your each and every point is on the mark.

I have not met any MotoGP racers but have met couple of racers and they swear by naked. semi faired bikes. SV650 is one of the most popular in the race track I go to for track days followed by motards and Ex500.

Naked bikes not only look cool but less tension if it falls, are lighter, easier to maintain - Taking out fairing for basic maintainance is something I can live without.

Triumph Speed Triple......what biker's wet dreams are made of. I did not ride a Speed Triple but I did ride a speed four - smoother power delivery, more upright riding position and those alien like head lights...awesome....

Does that mean fully faired bikes are bad? Not at all...its got its own oomph and I will leave that discussion for another time....

Please let me know if you want reviews for real on Speed Triple.....PM me

            that's a confusing question ...
It like asking a guy weather you like girls in mini's or bikini.. lol...zzz

anyways .. I love them all as i feel for high speeds fairings do good & for touring you get the comfort from the naked machines.. & you guys what about the cruisers.. he he he..

            I love them all...

                    naked sportstar\roadstar any time!

fully faired = fugly = fail for city ride.

no offence but people riding fully faired bike on city looks stupid!

but less then those with fullyfaired mod on a orignly naked bike!

                    it just me btw!

                          got some power?
flaunt it , why hide it with a fairing.

                          naked ones for me.
some how the faired ones dont blend with the indian traffic scene.
faired ones are better on the tracks or sunday morning rides.

To each his own! I think it is more of understanding your riding pattern&usage for the bike, rather than purely the looks factor. For me hence, it is a fully-faired sport tourer, the GSX 650F to start with, and probably moving on to the mighty Busa!

is fairing hides power you must understand the concept of naked bike & faired bike man

Guys, I know my opinion is a sucka's opinion, and nobody gives a Damn. But yet, I expect a reply/ response ...

I feel that Faired bikes are best. My only concern is that they should come with Road biased engines, somewhat like KTM Duke or Hornet, with a bit more punch in bottom & mid range torque. Is it not possible? It is!!

I say even R15's low & mid is enough. We can manage it ok, We're no amateur bikers, we know where it makes power & how to utilise it ...

Reg. Rearsets, I am more comfortable with them. If it pains, I'd rather take a 20 minutes break, and resume riding after it.

Adding to Greyanaroth's opinion, your Speed Triple does everything just right, I agree. Just IMAGINE & Add in a fairing to it... Only a fairing, ok? that's all.

So, what changes? nothing! Just that you'll see better aerodynamics & looks, with a negligible weight increase. Your bike will be as usable as it was... So, isn't it worth it?

Basically, we don't need nakeds. We need Faired machines with Road baised engines ... Expecting a response ...
