    guys i ve been breaking my head every possible way to get info.. xbhp is of maximum help to me.. i ve read many many many threads here, updating myself constantly.

    kwok: i hope u find a 09/10 r1 or gsxr also on sale i ve looked up on several threads for taking bikes outside showroom route. but there is a debate in every forum on this. they r split. some say that the documents cannot be forged and some say they obviously can be forged. so im confused about it
    and if i get a 2008 gsxr (especially the white) then i would definitely go for it.. but legal

      when you guys say that the R1 or the gixxer is an aggressive machine what exactly do you mean by it ? Is it the quarter mile acceleration you refer to ?

      Lemme ask it the other way around. When you say the CBR has smooth power; what exactly is meant by it ? That the CBR accelerates slower than the others ?

      I am pretty sure neither of you wanna say that the CBR accelerates slower nor do you wanna say that the R1 or gixxers of this world accelerate faster.

      So in all honesty, I for once, want to ask as to what is meant by folks when they throw around pub lore like..."this bike is more aggressive than the other"

      when i ride bullet before my bullet was solid condition but i once race with a Ceilo car and my engine size. mechancic say bullet is good bike but no racing. it is good for three people and very powerful.
      one day when i become rich i but ducati and then I race with cars. not now.

        OT: Hey, I would really like more information on the DRI auctions route that was suggested earlier in the forum. How is it done? What is the method for acquiring a bike via this route? Can anyone please get me more details on this because information is really hard to come by these days.

        One of my friends is also in search for a liter class SBK and is starved of options in the legal channels. A bike siezed by the customs department is definitely gonna be without any papers. When the auction them, will they be legal to ride afterwards? How much do they approximately cost? How does one go about buying them?

          no1 dare say that the cbr is slower..
          i don know bout others but i sure dont think its slow..there is a big difference btwn smooth & slow... pub lore or any place for tat matter reckon the cbr to be the best bike to ride as it doesnt throw u away.. its like riding a nimbus cloud with all tat torque and power..
          i wouldn get a used showroom cbr1000rr here in bang i guess..tis is my condition...
          but if the R1, gixxer & a CBR is left in front of me to choose.. i would go for all of em given a choice but if i ve to buy then "I" would go for a gixxer or an r1... not a cbr onlly and only because of its looks..(no offense to cbr but comparing) u could convince me on everythin else but not on the looks because all of us ve different tastes, don't we?...
          P.S: im an amateur in sbks.. but u dont need to be an expert to appreciate beauty..u either lik it or not.. kindly bare my ignorance..may b one day i too will be able to know more and say more.. but till then kindly feed me with all possible information

              Nah dude I was asking in all earnesty. Some people refer to the dog lash on superbikes as aggressive power delivery while others consider power at high rpms as 'aggressive power delivery'. Apparently u werent refering to either. But I still dont know what u were refering to then :P
              And you are right in going for the bike your heart is set on. No point buying the blade if u dont like its looks. (80% of the ppl dont like its looks including my entire family lol)
              I know what the feeling is like when ones madly in love with a bike like u r with the gixxer and if you were to buy any other machine because someone told you that its better or faster u just fell victim to peer pressure. You really just cant make a mistake with ANY of these bikes.

                ^^yeah just go with what your heart is set on....
                forget about everything else...
                on a personal note, 10 R1 is a bad bad first bike choice...
                but then again, if anyone likes R1, go for it ! its a mega attention magnet, but then it has alien eyes, and mine is white, hmm... i am thinking on keyboard at the moment..

                  Tenhut, its a lil' tough for me to put my thoughts into words. The r1 has this sudden 'snap' initial acceleration that the 1000rr lacks. I haven ridden a gixxer to comment but from what ive heard from riders, its more like the R1 than the cbr. Maybe my views are a bit biased as ive always been a honda person! I liked the linear initial-power delivery but my experiences are limited to the 600rr, 900rr and 1000rr.

                      That sudden 'snap' acceleration is the dog lash/drivetrain lash that I was refering to. Many liken this to 'aggressive throttle response'.
                      08 Blade has this dog lash eliminated (through what they call 'Idle Air control Valve' and 'Ignition retardation' technology) and hence feels smoother at the throttle. Power is dialled in in a seamless manner making u think its smooth. Quarter mile times and Roll-On timings are usually a good measure of a bikes acceleration. These are from the year 2008.

                      yamaha and suzuki have launched a new bike in year 2009.
                      Mind you the elimination of dog lash alone doesnt mean you will be accelerating faster in a quarter mile either ! A lot will depend on gearing too. But to have a fast accelerating cycle without drivetrain lash has never been achieved before this and the successfull elimination of this Lash is in my opinion 08 Blade's biggest trumph card. Even C-ABS is second to it. Unfortunately not much is talked about this feature ! This is that one feature that makes the 08 Fireblade utterly and pathetically noob friendly..but the next time you are whacking that throttle on the Blade feeling all comfy remember that you ARE also accelerating at the speed of light even if it feels like sitting in a fishing boat.

                        Okay, so what does the cross-plane crank do?

                        I am sick of reading reviews (I still read them) from all over the world and frankly want someone whom(3-4 blokes who ride) I know, do a comparo on streets.

                        Forget the figures, I want them to communicate the feel from whatever we have.

                        And anyways, the S1000RR is rocking the boat everywhere across all parameters.
