Surely the FZ6R looks great. Yamaha says this 78bhp machine is a great bike for the beginners.
Pls do share the contact details etc, even I am very much interested in it.
I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.
Ride often, ride well, have fun.

Only 800cc+ bikes allowed to be imported under OGL. Both for individuals and companies. TR may be a different ball game.

This is being lauched in Jan 2009(Ofcourse not in INDIA) and seems more practical to own in india too. Ain't she a beauty ??

Also I have another question, Can we import bikes from Thailand ? Will they be cheaper(In case of Duty etc). For e.g Ninja 20 is made in thailand... Are there any 600+ CC bikes made there ?

@Mods: I just copied the pic from the net, please remove it in-case this voilates some policy. Thanks.

Yamaha should CKD this and introduce it for around 4L. It'll sell like hotcakes. It's also cheaper than the fz6

CKD at 4 lk would be a discount for a third world country, Im sure they'd sell hot even at a mo.re reasonable 6-8 lakhs.

Yamaha should CKD, do part indigenous production on this and introduce it for around 4L. It'll sell like hotcakes. It's also cheaper than the fz6 at around roughly $7k or maybe less.

Does SBK's got resale value ? I am planning to own one around March-April-May 09. I want to use it for not more than 12-15 months.. How much money i would lose ? How are they calculated ? I am planning to get an 09 Yam R6. I am just 5.4 will it suit me ?

Motorcycles of any capacity can be imported. People have confused the homologation law with the import law....Bikes above 800cc do not need to be homologated, below that they need to. Customs has nothing to do with this...thats for your registration process and we all know how good our registration process is .

All bikes being imported need homogolation (Type Approval?) So there is no question of importing an 800cc+ bike without homogolation. If you do not have a type approval certificate for the bike you import there could be a fine, in the worst case it could also be confiscated or 100% duty imposed. Same goes for country of origin. The rule for cars is different (no homogolation is based on cost IIRC). I have been told on good authority that bikes under 800cc are not allowed to be imported under OGL period, whether homogolated or not (obviously won't be homogolated).

If you know of someone who has managed to legally import a bike under 800cc on OGL I'd like to talk with him/her please.
