I'm sure you are waiting for the rains to stop playing spoilsport, & get to 2.5k on the odo ASAP.
Wishing you millions of happy miles on the bike.

I'm glad to see you started off the mod process with a practical one!! Did you get that from Ducati itself, or is it an aftermarket grill?
Its an R & G product, but i got them from the ducati south africa itself. i didnt get a chace to look around the market, i wanted one quickly before i do any kind of riding, and this was the only one they had in stock, but i must say, it looks totally slick
drive safely... if not for you then for the sake of others!!

            Kachingg...once again YUM

Couple of notes on my own research on the SF, as i am beginning to ponder over an upgrade next year.

The below 3500 rpm sluggish behavior is widely documented. I have read about the SF ownership experience, mods etc a lot on the Ducati forums. The best known fix being an ECU flash...which you already know. The Termis and the Ducati ECU upgrade wont do much to the below 3500 rpm nature of the bike. Obviously it will add more power and a glorious sound.

On the Wind blast issue, Ducati Performance accessories sells a wind screen, it looks rather small, dont know if it helps much. But PUIG i think also sells one for the SF, slightly larger. I cant say how it looks on the SF. Maybe you can research it a bit more, but it def seems to be much better at cutting out the wind blast.

Anyway, great bike man. Good choice. I did test ride the 1098S and good lord it has a rather painful ergonomics. The SF on the other hand had much more comfy ergonomics (i just sat on one in riding posture with my buddy holding the bike straight).

Good luck with the break in period and in taming that beast of a ride.
            Ride safe

Yes, i figured, its the fueling issues, i do plan on flashing the ecu, question is when to. i have put 300km now on the bike, and the 3500rpm thing is really a *****, specially when u know how good the bike is beyond that, u cant help but wonder, how good the bike would be if one could just sort this issue.
frankly the bike has enough power to keep me occupied for some time, the termis are just gonna be for the sound, having a ducati with out termis is a sin !!
the sound of the termis is so sinister, goes with the nature of the bike.
regarding the windshield, i like the way the bike looks, wouldnt change anything, just have to deal with the wind blast :-)
i know what you mean about the eronomics of the 1198, i wanted to buy one as well, in fact loved the bike , didnt care about the ergo, until i saw the SF , that is :-)
drive down to South Africa, for a couple of days, we could go for some stunning biking trails. ( google search for Garden route )
Am already planning on buying one more bike in a few months, or may be next yr, wanna wait till honda comes out with the new gen cbr ( or may be am just plain screwed in the head ) , but i know my wife would no tbe a happy woman, she wants me to get an SUV. !!

Driving down to SA would be fun, but am up here in the United States.
Anyway, do give the Ducati Performance screen a look. It apparently feels right at home while not changing the minimalist looks of the SF.
                +1 on the termis.

finally after a long wait of 4-5 months, i recieved my 2011 SFS on saturday.
as my luck would have it, its been raining ever since i took the bike off the dealership, rode in the rain , for all of 12 kms home, and thats how much distance i have put on the bike in 2 days.
Its safely locked up in the garage, with me , checking on it every now and then , and cranking it up every now and then.
cant wait for the rains to stop and take this baby out.

took this pic at the dealership itself.

Oh man,you are too lucky Congratulations !! Awesome !!
