In this past fortnight , I have been chasing a ghost sound from my bike. It sounds like a Tappet sound, but when I check them(tappets) they seems to be alright and within tolerance. Now this Harley has Hydraulic Tappets and can adjust to appropriate push rod length all on its own.
I was so bugged by that faint Tic Tic noise , I had a tear down of entire engine, from my experience I felt it was connecting rod! It sounded like as if connecting rod has given up.
The sound was completely absent when bike was cold but grew as it heated up.

Little background! I adjusted the blow off valve for the turbo to open at 14psi. Adjusted the EFI tune and covered about 200km. Well I always had that Tic tic sound on my bike , most sportsters have it! But somewhere while on 14 psi , it started having that sound all the time. Cold / hot didn't matter.

I tore every thing down and found connecting rods / pistons/ crank pin/ wrist pain etc all fine.
I assembled the engine back to full again like 3-4 times..trying different experiment. Nothing helped.
And the while torquing the cylinder bolts down , I found one out of four is completely stripped. It wouldn't hold torque at all..
While torquing and assembly it was all fine but every time I opened the engine ,I found this bolt loose.
Finally had to replace the stud with an oversized one , drill n tap new threads in crank case.
      Hope now it would hold.
There is tons of work to be done and such catastrophic disasters don't help atall.
Hoping to present my bike as best custom Harley in India in India bike week and events like that.
This stupid thing halted everything, oil cooler ,wide tyre and internally wired Handlebars await me.
I am not taking my bike past 10 psi ever!

So now that the oil cooler is done , mock up for 240 Or 225 rear end has started.
Swingarm already designed, rear wheel hub machining in progress.

                    Almost ready!
Also bigger hybrid turbo going in too, plan to increase boost to 14psi..
I have done some trials and outlook is optimistic.

Stock tail light from Superlow n stock chrome indicators are going be on that 14 gauge steel handcrafted fender.
                          No plastic crap .
I mocked it and with all glitzy glam of lights n chrome , it will look better.
Already ordered some nice gloss black (original HD) paint from US and package has already reached Indian customs. Might get it within this week.
Engine has been worked upon already , both cylinders will have lower compression ratio , lower by 1 unit, already tried 14psi with it .
Turbo is a new unit from Garrett ,GT series. old one got sold to someone who wanted to experiment all by himself to Turbo his Harley, I offered him my services but he was like I got my car turboed , I can handle this.
I already hear he has blown his engine , and has now imported complete new engine from US dealer. And ofcouse his love for Turbos has ended , very short love story.

So , this baby will be all photogenic and ready to muscle in about 10 days.
Meanwhile I have half bought another HD , Iron it is.
Half bought because one of my friends who works in gulf and I pooled in and bought a 2014 iron with all bells n whistles in very reasonable price.
He spends just 2 months a year here and that time he rides , rest of the time it's with me.
Soon that Iron is also going to see a Turbo!

Sirjee, how do you plan to corner around any bend with such a low profile flat rear tire? Looks like a car tire to me?
                            And congrats on the Iron!
