Re: Unassailable Psyche: Suzuki GSX-R 1000 L1
Thanks! OT: Are you a hard core gamer? Which platform, will take it private since OTOriginally posted by pcgamer View PostWow! Congrats. Feels good to see a fellow biker realise his SBK dream. The Gixxer looks smashing in black. Have a million fun filled and safe miles with the beast
Honesty is the audacity of the righteousness, well said! 'Respect' is what we all must have for such high end machines. Well, in my case since I graduated in levels (250 >> 650 >> 1000), I took it off to its little prowess on my first day (However had ridden R1 also before and clocked around 400 kms in that)Originally posted by harish.krovvidi View Post
Bigger bikes are ridicoulusly fast and viloent / brutal accelerations. When i first got the busa i used it for 4k km in the city in c mode, the a mode would just make me pee in my pants use to hit 100 in a blonk of an eye.
In true perspective, you may never ride the beast to its utmost capabilities, track is where we can, but ironically those are also a couple in India. India is anyhow a big country and there are indeed few stretches but then again governed by speed limits, its just the onus on the individualOriginally posted by joeantony View Post@TS : Congrats on the SBK, the looks are awesome. I have a question for all the sbk owners here.. Inside India how much we will be able to enjoy the power of these machines? I don't know how long will one be able to stay at 150+ speeds in any roads. I have never seen a freeway with out a random pedestrian or cattle crossing lethargically. Investing something like 10-20L and not able to be enjoying it fully is pain in the a##.

Even the strainghts in madras motorsports club aint going to let you hit more than 180 probably 220 tops on the straightway, Budh internatiinal definetly maybe 220-260 range...
On airport runway full clip is a definet yes
Let me find a few pics of me from the dragstrip speedo readings

Pump up the volume full, GSX-R 1000 fly by short Video, taken just 3 hours before. Me enjoying every second of Gixxer, clocked 543 kms since the day bought and rode only 6 times, so average 90.5 kms each day
Disclaimer: Done in a barricaded stretch, the road condition was adjudged. This stretch since barricaded does not have dogs/pedestrians wobblin around.
Respect machine, respect power, always be geared up to be more saferLast edited by abhirajcb; 01-12-2014, 09:44 PM.

Re: Unassailable Psyche: Suzuki GSX-R 1000 L1
well not trying to batter you brother. just concerned as the gear that you got is fantastic for the slower moving bikes. but when you up the game you need to up your equipment tooOriginally posted by abhirajcb View Post
Thanks, and well said with some good pointers. I guess you own a CBR600RR and 848 Evo, Right?.. Have silently read your threads long back.
'Gear', I guess everyone is here to batter me
. Well full armor suit will be in soon
and yup. I had a 600rr earlier and now puttering around on an 848 evo.
though just a suggestion - instead of an entire suit I would strongly recommend you going in for all the three essentials (jacket, pants, gloves) separately but the ones that can be worn together as one piece (basically the pants should be attachable to the jacket) as more often than not you would be using the jacket and the gloves for your day to day rides.
I have seen a couple of alpinestars, and tried joe rocket. My personal opinion is that you should consider joe rocket. better built quality, and easily available in india.
another fantastic gear manufacturer is "dainese". though slightly on the expensive side - they feel great and the built quality is top notch.
as far as your brake pads are concerned have a look at this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...m=331070580268
have heard great reviews about themLast edited by samyakmodi; 01-13-2014, 07:27 PM.

Re: Unassailable Psyche: Suzuki GSX-R 1000 L1
Guys need help!
I went for a 123 km ride late night, just came sometime back. All of a sudden today while in a STOP signal, tried to start my Gixxer 1000 L1, the light dimmed but did not start, turned it off and on, then it started, the behavior is random, some times it starts, sometimes it does not. This is for the first time I experienced such a thing, and it was consistentently happening, battery is not an issue as it was replaced 8 months back. Hence the instrument cluster as usual lights up when I turn the key on, the fuel pump also run for 3-5 seconds, everything normal donno where is the disconnect.

Re: Unassailable Psyche: Suzuki GSX-R 1000 L1
Do you ride the bike enough for the battery to get charged? SBKs usually need more kms than commuters to retain charge IMO. Also, have a look at the starter relay. Maybe its some fuse in there acting funny.Originally posted by abhirajcb View PostGuys need help!

This happens because the bike is hot or battery drained from the late night ride.
Seen it happen on the haysbusa from city riding, hence put a switch between the daytime light i switch it off during city riding to save the battery
