        Re: Harley Davidson Street 750

Went on a Sunday breakfast ride with fellow HOG members today. The bike rode nicely. I seem to be getting a hang of the brakes now. Feeling more and more confident while stopping - even in panic break situations. As for the engine, the acceleration is making me grin ear to ear every time I twist the throttle.
FE - I got 20.80, 21.80 and 21.35 Kms/ltr in my last three fills by tankful method.
Few pics from the ride today.
        Cheers!

First of all congrats for the new steed buddy. It feels really nice when somebody earns his dream and give all other gearheads an inspiration to achieve their. I never rode a Harley before Street 750 and I just loved it when I did. It had a screaming eagle and was enough for aural sense delight. In true sense I don't love HD-s but still it distracts me due to its super competitive price and enough juice to make long rides a fun. Most of us grew up seeing ZX12R, R1, Ducati posters and this perception just makes us feel like "If its a dream, it should be those monsters only" without realizing that its taking most of us far from our dream to get a big bike. Still not decided but who know, maybe Harley is coming home soon .

            Thanks mate.
The Street is not a poster material, but to be frank, this is the max I could afford (after stretching my budget by a margin). I too wasn't a fan of HD, but the Street just ticked the right boxes for me. It's practical in every sense and still pretty exciting.
The SE silencer definitely adds a lot of character. But, this also will have to wait coz every accessory again will require some careful planning in terms of hardly earned money.
Do take test rides of all the options and let the ride choose the rider.
            Cheers!

I know buddy but still its not that bad either in looks department. No offense to GT650R owners but I feel people will not throw their Street 750 like they do with GT in very short span of time. Mileage over 20 kmpl from a 750cc twin is also a good sign but I would like to ask about the speeds you do for such mileage. My R15 gives 25kmpl when I am full throttle all the time, so for me your mileage is just a magic if it comes for 120-150 range. You are surely gonna feel a difference with SE, save for it. My personal favourite is Triumph Street Triple but doors are open from RC390 to Street Triple all the way. Hope to see some more action in 2.5 to 9 lac bracket in coming times. I will just have options but pocket will do the choosing work :-)

I like the way the GT650R looks in the new iteration. The 750 is more like a starting point on which you have to put your imprint. Not yet decided how to do that yet
The FE I quoted were a mix of bad traffic (25%) + relaxed riding (50%) + wicked grin riding (25%). I hope it clarifies.
I like the Street Triple and the RC390 as well. Now, when I think about it, I like quite a number of bikes (sad, can't own all).

This morning I wanted to go on a solo ride and really wanted to explore some new area.
One thing I am so sure now after todays ride - 10 kms on new roads is far exciting than 100 on known ones.
The roads weren't in very good shape, but the Street managed it all without a hiccup.
                Feeling content as of now.
                Cheers!

There is a big waiting period for the Street accessories though.
The tyres are doing pretty good on dry surfaces during spirited riding & peg-scraping cornering. Yet to check them on wet surfaces. Will update.
                    Cheers!

                      Great,

I guess the three things which you need now is a crash guard, wind screen and a sissy bar... Any idea what is the cost of Screaming eagle exhaust in chennai.

The SE exhaust is priced at Rs. 27,398 while the SE air-filter kit comes at Rs. 5,694.

Yesterday had great fun in exploring the outskirts of Chennai. Went towards Pulicat lake. Highlight of this ride was the Street suspension setup. It behaved very nicely on those broken roads/ no-roads.

                        Few pics from the ride.

After catching the viral fever and being asked to take rest I was really keen to take the Street out. So today after some two weeks I went on a solo long ride. It was an unplanned ride with only the direction decided in the morning. Had fun and the bike performed brilliantly as usual. Covered some 100 something kms. Attaching few pics from the ride.

On the economy front the bike gave 21.4 km/l by tankful method.
