Congratulations . she is a damsel with dynamite.
Take it real easy for first 200km . keep it under 100, avoid running too slow in higher gear. Post that you can start to spread wings a bit.

Thank you Dushyant bhai, I am trying hard to keep it at 80kph. Did breach 100kph twice and 120kph once. Already covered 200kms on odo.
Gosh this thing has oodles of torque. Tell me something: what are the consequences of riding half clutch occassionaly? I did that quite often on my bullet though.

GC is an issue with pillion rider, without a pillion it is manageable to an extent. I got the suspension setting to 3 and feel the ride is harsh with pillion, I am hoping that to improve and I much more kms.

And I am experiencing some hand fatigue on the right hand strangely and not that much on the left hand. Guess need to buy some gloves.

Bro only one hand getting tired is classic symptom of rear wheel misalignment. If rear wheel is tracking slightly towards left, hand needs to creates constant pressure on right side handle bar to go straight. This can be so little to go un noticed.
You can get a feel if this is a valid case in ur bike by riding with one hand on bars. Ride a few kms with just right hand and then a few with only left hand. You will get a feel. Come to me if you find this is the case.

In case of riding half Clutch , In case of traffic , one has no choice but to ride on half clutch . The only precaution I take is Not tend to accelerate under Half clutch. I use it Only to get going or Crawl in traffic. if one needs to accelerate , let the clutch engage fully . But since you have been riding Bull regularly and not returning to biking after a long gap , I am sure you already know it. Nothing special needed , ride as you normally do.
Infact I would suggest some changes to Gear shift pattern. Most bikers get a feel of when to up shift , By nature/feel/rpm/sound etc. Once you get over with First service , start Ignoring the Urge to upshift , take the bike beyond your normal urge onset. Dont worry , Sportsters rev safely to 7000rpm , factory limiter is set at 6000revs. sfifting somewhere around 4.5k-5k is sweet spot for fun. And trust me currently you would be upshifting even before 3k.
You will notice the Fun factor multiply .

I recently changed the the clutch plates at around 20000km , And by the looks of it they had plenty of life left. They might go for another 20k quite easily. Holding onto them for Future Use.

                @dushyant Bhai
Ok so the fatigue I was referring to was mostly on my right wrist and not hand, was a typo Sorry about the misinterpretation.
I tried riding with one hand on bars, then no both hands not on bars to see if the bike is misaligned; thankfully nothing of that sort. So I would say the fatigue was due to the difference in power from Bull to Harley; it is a hell of a difference.
It has been a week of riding my Harley on short distances only 60-70 Kms on great tarmac and am sticking to changing gears around 2500-3000 rpm. Wow I can imagine the fun shifting gears at 4500-5000rpm; will try that of course after first service.
As far as using half clutch I will try not to accelerate too much without engaging a lower gear. Thanks for your inputs as always

Re: My 2015 Harley Davidson Superlow comes home

Its wrist then! probably only a getting used to thing. If its forearm or entire arm thats getting tired, it usually is a busted rear wheel wheel bearing or misalignment.
Good to know the bike tracks straight without hands on bars.
I could not get what you implied by \"I will try to accelerate too much without engaging a lower gear\"
Moreover I am Shifting to NCR next month as I am changing job(moving to honda cars) , Hope to chatch up soon.

It was a typo, have edited my previous post. So you are moving in to NCR, wow that good. Many congratulations for getting into Honda. We will catch up for sure, I hope you will bring in your \'Sporty\' along or once you get settled here.

Re: My 2015 Harley Davidson Superlow comes home

                        Thank you Harsha.
It was time I planned a longish trip on my Harley and luckily some office friends planned a short trip to Damdama lake. NCR bikers would know this place and a pretty popular destination. For those of you not aware this place is roughly 25 kms from Gurgaon. The roads are pretty much okay but my biggest concern were the Mountain sized speed breakers. These breakers made sure my Sporty had a tough time. I managed to escape a few but did manage to scrape the bottom almost a dozen times.

Some observations from the 215 kms ride:

-Engine performs effortlessly pulling from as early as 1000rpm till 3000rpm; I am struggling not to breach this limit till the first service.
-Leaning angles are not that bad while riding solo, more freedom while leaning towards right.
-Suspension is nowhere close to Indian conditions, as soon as there is a stretch of bad roads I have to ensure I slow down considerably. But solo riding is much better compared to riding with a pillion rider.
-Fuel efficiency has been pretty acceptable at 20-22kmpl with 50% highway riding and rest urban traffic with village roads as well.

I will post some pictures shortly.

First Service done now for my HD:

The recommended timelines for first service were 1600kms/1 month. I had already ridden 1000kms and it was a month so took my bike to the Service Center. I did fix an appointment for 10:30am but was late by 30 minutes due to some crazy traffic and mind you I had around 60kms to cover to the HD Service center in Gurgaon. So got in and to my surprise there were 7 HD's to be serviced ahead of mine, service consultant smiled and said 'Sir it'll take a while since we got 7 bikes before we start work on yours'. I was pretty okay with it since I had already anticipated this and taken a leave from work.

He prepared the job card and asked me if there was anything wrong with the bike. I just thought I should talk about my right wrist pain which has still not gone and per dustom_99 'Dushyant Bhai's' suggestion asked him to check the alignment even though I knew it was alright. There after he briefed me what all would be done on this service and the estimate.
This is the moment when I realised what a blunder have I have done buying a Superbike ; 7200/- odd for my Harley's service. Engine Oil was changed, gasket for clutch cover, oil filter and labour accounted for the grand total.

God! everything about this bike is 'Super Expensive' but the joy I get riding it is "Priceless"

While I was waiting for my ride to be serviced, I could see all the technicians working hard on the previous bikes from the lounge. My bike was readied by 3:30pm, post service checks by the service technician and I was away headed back for home. Notable difference straight away was much smoother than earlier as a result of the engine oil change. Rest everything remains the same 900 cc 70 NM torque and rumbling acceleration.

                            Valentines Day Ride with Wife:
So as Valentines day was approaching I thought of doing something different this time but had my apprehensions 'whether or not wife would like it'. A couple of days ahead of Valentines Day I thought of suggesting my wife for a shortish early morning breakfast ride to Murthal (folks in and around Delhi NCR would know this place). It is a well known hangout for bikers to feast on some North Indian breakfast Paranthas, tea, home made butter etc, you name it they've got it. Murthal is about 120 Kms from where I live and this could be my second shortish trip after Damdama lake few days back.

Wife agreed and said 'Yes' we can go; woohoo . I was elated to hear that and we planned to push off at 6am on 14th Valentines Day.
Our plan was simple, get off to Murthal, have breakfast and tea, click photographs and back home. I do not have any riding gear so far apart from my cramster gloves, well actually I have not been able to afford any gear ever since I bought my HD. I'll surely have a few essentials sooner than later. For the time being just managing with my trusted casual jacket.

                            14th Feb Ride:

We were ready to roll at 6 am sharp, the weather has eased out certainly. It is not as chilly as it was some 2 weeks back so perfect weather for riding I'd say. Started my bike and warmed it up for a couple of minutes. It was pin drop silence around 6 am in and around our Apartment till I cranked my baby, couple of guys from adjoining tower were out in the balcony, security guard past asleep woke up and few stray dogs started barking as if I was stealing something. I rode to the nearest HP fuel station and tanked up with normal fuel as usual and off we were to the Noida-Gr Noida expressway.

The fresh morning became even fresher riding on my Harley with the wind hitting me. Oh really amazing, the ride had started on a great note with my better half along with me. We halted wherever we could and clicked every now and then.

We reached Murthal by 9am, the dhaba I went to had a 2 wheeler parking right behind where I could not see a single bike. This was Haveli restaurant/dhaba, I pushed off from there since our doubts on the parking. I have been to Sukhdev many a times so decided to goto Sangam dhaba for a change. There were few cars but seemed okay to me. We had some aloo paranthas, tea with the home made butter.

So all in all a great ride with some interesting questions from fellow bikers on Delhi traffic lights.

                            1. Bhaiya light jal rahi hai/your lights are on.
                            2. Double engine hai/your bike has 2 engines
                            3. Kitne ki hai/how much is it?

But the best one was when I halted at an ATM and there was a guy cleaning the area with the long broom stick

                            4. Bhaiya enticer hai na/is this enticer. I said yes, he started smiling and said kitne ki hai/how much, I just said 1lakh, he burst into laughter and said you are lying to me this is vip bike must be costly I insisted and he kept laughing... Funny guy for sure

From what I hear it's pathetic out here in Surat.
