Re: My 2015 Harley Davidson Superlow comes home

    Thanks ABikerAtHeart
If I talk about the buying experience and 1st Service; Customer Service is just about average. I could write and talk about it all day but don't want to. Comparing my experience while buying my Royal Enfield some 11 years back customer service was light years ahead back in Chandigarh.

I have to go through your Viaterra Rapide review though; it's time a buy a travelling bag.

Got a couple products for cleaning, maintaining chrome is a tough ask given the atmosphere here in NCR. One is for keeping the wheel and tyre clean from any marks and the other one to keep the chrome shiny.

Re: My 2015 Harley Davidson Superlow comes home

Last Sunday rode my Enfield after a span of over a month ever since HD came home. Felt totally different:

        -Ride:
I felt almost like riding a cafe racer in terms of the stance of the ride, riding posture, handle bar reach.

        -Performance:
I know there is no comparison between the 350 & 883 motors but yeah having ridden both simultaneously wanted to share the experience with all.
350 is a work horse and 883 so far is like a tractor, will pull like a locomotive, freight train and all similar activities it'll perform at ease
I sometimes feel I could even tow any small car behind the 883's raw power

        -Suspension:
350's suspension even after 11 years is perfect. Springy, spongy, & comfortable on roads or no roads
883's is just about manageable while riding solo, with pillion have to be very careful of road inundations and uneven surfaces. I hear a bad bump kind of noise that I am concerned about happens only with a pillion; feels as if the springs on the rear suspension are having some sort of contact/impact. And this is after I have the the preload adjusted to position '3' out of '5' from the day of delivery

        -Braking:
350's is quite dodgy over 90kph since I have not changed the rear brake shoes for a while now and front is just fine whereas 883 is precise (when applied both Front & Rear together)

        -Exhaust note:
Well 350's thump ROCKS and 883 as of now is a dead duck till I get V n H or SE; however I kind of like 883's linear stock sound so far but don't know till how long can I keep it stock

Lastly, 350 and 883 both have dynamic personalities and my Enfield will always remain very close to my heart. All nearby/short rides to market, temple, groceries etc etc continue to be on 350 and the weekend, leisure rides, long rides would be on HD XL883L

          Congratulations on the Enticer!

What's the cost of that chrome polish?
          Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I got chrome polish from HD about an year ago. It was around 800/ if I remember ( same pack).
However I am yet to use even half of the pack. Also ,although HD sells Aluminium polish separately , I have used chrome polish on some aluminum parts as well , like Primary cover. So far it has worked pretty good on aluminum as well.

                    Harshit,
Bro trying my best to keep all the acres of chrome shiny and the tyre cleaner I purchased primarily for cleaning the wheel. Its good that you haven't washed your bike, water less cleaning is much better anyday. My bike was washed on the 1st Service and I do not plan to get it washed any time soon Takes me 2 hours to clean the Harley on a weekly basis. If I add my Bullet to the cleaning list oh boy, half my weekend is gone

Re: My 2015 Harley Davidson Superlow comes home

So after a long riding drought 3 weeks or so, all thanks to office work finally did ride day before yesterday. This was my first HOG ride with the official chapter Capital HD. The ride was from Vasant Kunj HD showroom to Murthal for breakfast and back.

Made a couple of friends ahead of the ride and thought I'll join them in Gurgaon and ride along side till the catch up point. The rendezvous point was at Gurgaon Toll opposite to Ambience Mall at 6:30am, crap I realised later that to reach there so early I need to wake up at 4am.

No worries set up an alarm for 4:00am> morning ablutions done by 4:30am > some green tea > Riding Jacket > Knee Guards > 5am I am all set to rumble
Cleaned up my HD and ignition ON and here I go, had to tank up so went to the nearest gas station.

Reached the rendezvous point first at sharp 6:30am, my buddies were there too in a couple of minutes. One of them is an Iron Man and the other one is Fatty Bob, it's a shame I could click photos. Now we were rolling to the catch up point at Vasant Kunj, reached there in approximately 30 mins. The HD showroom was being opened while we reached there, it was refreshing to see all HD'S early morning in the showroom.

Slowly and surely harley owners started flocking in, by 7:45am we had close to 40 harleys consisting of largely Street 750's followed by Iron, Superlow, Fat Boy, Fat Bob, a super cool 48
Finally before the flag-off there was ride briefing by the Senior Riders of the Chapter, some introductions by debutants like me and few more and we were off at 8am.

Boy this group was outnumbered by the Street 750 Clan, all sorts of exhaust mods, beefy intimidating sounds from mufflers and for a second I surely thought my Sporty is too silent. Weather was too good on the day, it was cloudy with some brief spells of rain in between. We reached Murthal by 9am I guess, entire ride was very good. The Marshals did a good job too in stopping/diverting traffic. Everyone was riding in a queue and a long one consisting of only HD's, was a great feeling.

Thoroughly enjoyed the ride, had a good breakfast and we were all set to ride back by 10am.
Its a pity I could not click as many photographs as i would have liked.

Awesome man..!!! You should ride more often with the HOGS, its a nice experience but steer clear of 750s.. That bike has negligible braking power, I'm scared of getting read ended by one.. :P
We should catch up soon buddy..!!! Till then..
                        Ride hard, Ride Safe..!!!

I will certainly ride more often bro, it has been a great experience and I look forward to take it further. Yeah Street 750 is selling like hot cakes at the moment.
Lets catch up on next ride, I will be on vacation this week and even next week

Folks time for a brief write up-

I am fortunately part of two riding groups now, one based in Gurgaon and one in Noida. Both groups are Harley only riders. All riders are from different walks of life with one thing in common "Riding a Harley Davidson" Everyone has a thing or two to share about the below average customer service of HD and have a couple of grievances up their sleeves. Guess that is a pretty much a norm since Sales are at a high. My last two rides have been on the Yamex till about the first toll; place named Jewar which is about 40 kms from Greater Noida. The road everyone knows is a pleasure to ride devoid of any breakers and by and large smooth concrete. This is the only opportunity in North India where we could breach the usual top speed at ease. It was time for me to try a Fast & Furious lap. So far I have gone till 120-130kph on Noida expressway for a few seconds just to feel the rush.
But beyond that haven't really got the scope; here am I now on Yamuna Expressway and an opportunity I have been waiting for. Did a quick lap of 10 kms or so at a stretch of speeds in excess of 140kph and touching almost 150kph. I quickly realised how fast I was; that is some serious speed in my book. The first thing was to get to 150kph and the next crucial factor was to hang on to the handle bars and not blown away. The vibrations at such speeds are amazing, and I did not crouch even a bit which is not good; winds slap you on your chest. Since I am a novice when it comes to high speed riding on a motorbike had to be very careful and I did ensure I had all the protective gear necessary. The effects of this high speed run was that all day I felt as if I am on wheels; high adrenaline all day full of energy. This was just a humble attempt in understanding how is the wind blast at high speeds highly not recommended. I mean I didn't buy a Harley for high speed laps rather comfortable cruising with High Speed fits here and there.
The ride was accompanied by some chai at the food junction and back; best part was that both rides were done on weekdays. Short and crisp rides and we disperse back home getting ready for office; I'd say that's the best way to start your day and effective utilisation of time. Bought a cramster saaddle bag for some basic storage, pretty cost effective so decided against the more expensive Rynox nomad or viaterra. Will be making use of it during a overnighter some where shortly.

Oh I missed this ride as I left my bike at Haridwar. Soon will join you guys.
I understand this segment of biking is about rush, satisfaction and fun. Harley's specially sportster are a lot if fun even at 150!
To get same kind of adrenaline flowing you would need north of 200kph speed on other sbk . largely because at 150 you don't feel anything special, dangerous, exciting on a Honda 1l sbk.
And Also Harley's become exactly what you want of them to become. From a smooth and sexy old school ride to a tyre burning drag racer. She is Game! Are you? Is the question to be asked when you ride a Harley!
