Wednesday Evening Ride Update :

Distance - 15.5 Kms
From - Work Place @ Yemalur
To - Home @ BTM 2nd stage

Firstly, the bike was absolutely untouched at the parking as I had expected. Even though, I had paid a visit in the lunch break to check if everything was fine with her !

The lights felt like I was being dropped into a chocolate factory after having been starved for ages while being kept on a diet of broken glass pieces and sand.
The R15 headlights are as useless as it gets. This one lit the road up properly and I didn't have to guess whether I was riding over a puppy or a pot hole !
Cutting through lanes and traffic was immense fun as earlier in the day. Average Mileage indicator seems to be stuck at 17.8kmpl in the city. Few 'road racers' on activas and R15s challenged for a race Eased off the throttle and let the Activa guy have his happiness as he sped away in the darkness. Let the throttle go from 3.5K RPM to 4K RPM and watched the white lights of the R15 disappear into oblivion. I do not get this ' race - me' enthusiasm among these lot ! Would probably kill himself and someone else some day ! Hope Not.

Was parked at the atm when one smart 'fellow' decided to seat on the seat !!! Felt like killing him but told him that the stand is weak and it would break and he continued with his momo with a perilous look. It is not the road or the traffic but the people who make it difficult to use these machines. So next time when I have a household chore to attend to while returning from office, it would be the R15 else this subtle beast !

Oops moment:
While getting down from the parking place, the front wheel went over a bigger than average stone and I was moved about a bit ! Phew ! But my height saved the day ! Parked and Happy ! Roadbuster is off to sleep !

Inference -
Mirrors have a positive, finally. They are good for cities as they show what is immediately behind you pretty well, better than my R15. But on the highway, it fails to show the what is behind you at a bit of distance from you. This is where a wider placed mirror might help but will kill its ability to go through every little gap !

This is made for the city rides, every design element is giving me this suggestion !


Next update would be when I ride Her to another new and awesome experience !

Doesnt mirror extender help here? It is supposed to extend height of mirror right?

Not very sure but I guess these extenders pushes the mirrors further away and increases the height by about an inch.

I just read on google about octane boosters. Any of your friends tried that? I bet it would come quite handy while touring. And yeah i keep visiting to see updates from you. Please keep em coming.

I have seen some, in pictures, during my extensive pre-buy research. They are just little metal pieces with a groove that goes where the mirror does and another groove on the other side so that the mirror can go there. Pretty basic but yes, in India, you would be ripped to get one.

None that I know. I have read about them, as you would have guessed by now. It is a very iffy thing. Some say they work, other don't agree and they fight on the web !
Some brands market 0.1RON improvement as 1RON improvement, etc etc ! Going by logic that fuels of different RONs are being sold worldwide, I don't expect them to work as advertised.

Well, great to know, I got someone hooked to the thread and I am not the only one enjoying the english depiction of the Roadbuster journey ( Wishing I would get everything grammatically correct at one go though)
You can stop probing this thread for a while though and enjoy Easter ! I am off on a holiday to Munnar from Friday till Sunday and Roadbuster stays back at home, having her own time

Monday though, we shall have some more fun !

Djay has mirror extenders on his bike, you can probably check them in person before he Zzzz's to Hyderabad.

Dude !! Are you serious about going to Munnar without Roadbuster ? How are you going ? Car ? Bus ? Let your family go by whatever, you follow them on Roadbuster

Good suggestion and I had considered the option !

But, no i won't.

One, because i Don't want around 1500 on the odo and then go for 1st servicing, second, family trip dies when everyone is travelling on their own and third, huge trouble of refill stations !

Plus I have been told, in kerela, they get hold of people wearing gear as they are conceived to be 'racers'

1st 3 reasons sounds right but 4th reason holding ppl riding with gear is absolute stupidity. So they expect us to ride sbk without helmets and gloves...
