Its all a part of marketing and branding. BMW has always stated that they dont make bikes for posers , pretty boys, striaght line heros and throtle jockeys. Im glad they stuck with that idea. BMW always has had asymmetrical front headlights. Im pretty sure the people wanting to just look good wont buy this bike. This bike is built for corners, not using it like it was meant to would just be wastage of an incredible machine.

Other than headlights you should have a look at the bike from both sides, which no one here has mentioned....Originally posted by DevilisH View PostHi All,
Maybe a silly question, but what are the benefits of asymmetrical headlights over the normal headlights setup ?
Thanks,

I think its good, if you get bored of one side, park the bike other way around. While riding you cant see much anyways ...
May the torque be with you..

This just in. The first dyno run on a S1000 put out figures of 183 bhp at the rear wheel, and 200 bhp at the crank. This puts it at around a full 20 bhp more than the 09 R1. The power to weight ratio is going to blow everything away

Should've been more clearer. THe first publicly dyno-d result put it at those figures.Originally posted by Aryan View Post*Speechless*
As far as I remember, the WET weight of the S1000 came in at a little of 200 kgs.. just about 20 kgs lesser than the R1. So 20 kgs lesser, and 20 bhp more..
Verdict: RIP Japanese liter bikes, RSV, 1198. Game over. This truly is a segment altering product. I don't want to get too excited when I say this, but I think this can be compared to the 98 R1, or the Gixxer K1/K3.
