    • The difference in cost is just the cost of labor in North America vs China.
They are both made from billet Aluminum. For all you know, an entrepreneur from the west is getting them made in China using the same process.
The ebay seller i mentioned "Fire Dragon Brothers" is actually a guy from California who started his business by getting stuff made in China using the same tech used by Pazzo or ASV.
The levers will only break under a fall, not by regular use.
Half the stuff in the world is made in China, wonder how many parts from the Jap bikes are made there.

      • Wow. Looking nice!!! You just got the levers in na? No grips and bar weights?

The sights & sounds thrill. Glad to see the club growing, and hoping to join it someday.
        You get the point?? :D

        • hey fireblah...just saw your other thread about choosing colour...and your bike isnt blue..its looking black...yours is the 2010 model and the pics in that thread are of 2009 model...am i right?

          • I do not know which pictures you are talking about... maybe post them.. copy the same link and repost them.

My bike is 2009 model and its blue. the original colour that is.

about grips and weights... one screw refused to come out.. from the throttle assembly.. and several tries resulted in the screw loosing much of its star shape (dunno what its called, the slot where you put the screw driver in)... so next time we will try to get it out somehow and replace with a new screw.
May the torque be with you..

            • Dude, always use an impact-screwdriver when loosening screws for the first time. They usually come secured with Loctite (or something similar) from the factory.

car is having an issue of extra noise... like someone has a bad throat.. the noise is in tandem with engine rpm... changes pitch directly proportional to rev(rpm) ..
any idea what it might be ?
Check for exhaust leaks, leaks from the manifold, turbo seals etc. and plug them. Clean air filter also. This should resolve the bad throat.

agree with you bro, i still would go for a good racing brand then some chineese brand, i guess its just personal preference, i bet they also must be making fake akrapovic exhaust too, i heard of fake akras in the market, wonder what they will sound like though haha..

                      • I read up on a couple of forums that the 2008+ fireblades have an oil drinking problem. I had decided that this will be the superbike I'd buy as and when I could afford one, but now due to this oil issue I'm having second thoughts.

Does your bike have this problem?
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Hi, how do you know all this, because I think you are right, not taken the car to any mechanic yet, not driving her also, now another sound, which seems to be coming from the dynamo (coil) assembly attached to the engine.
This one is really bad like a rattling noise.... !
never ever heard this kind of noise even from any maruti !

The oil problem is limited only to 2008 models, my bike is 2009 model, and I do not have any such issue, nor have i heard any of 2009 onward fireblade models having any such issue.

The blade remained unchanged from 2008 to 09 and 10, it is supposed to be the same even for 2011, so how did the oil drinking problem vanish when they didn't make any changes to it?
