Are these bikes or cars with two wheels?

Great stuff ya! They have like a truckload of features!

          GR8 THREAD
certainly almost all the features u elaborated upon are unheard of here in india

silly question where is the gear lever?
          any spec. sheet?

BMW bikes are certainly THE most unconventional i have ever come across.

goddamn taxes in India though 9 lacs sounds good for the features it offers
but just wondering what the price would become if imported !!!
(not that i'd buy one, unless i fall upon a fortune!!)

Hats Off to you Haroon bhai - amazing thread - and WOW now that was some compilation.

Though I myself haven't ever ridden a BMW, I have been a big fan of them since my childhood days and the BMW K1 was the first one to capture my fancies. This breed isn't about top speed or the 1/4 mile thing. These machines are in a league of their own and its good to know that there is someone who admires them so much and more importantly spent all the time and efforts to share the pics and info with us here.

                Thanks guys.

@ rockinggokul- The gear lever is at the same place like the jap bikes. But some of the fully faired bikes like the RT has it enclosed in the fairing and through a hole in the fairing only the stub that you tap up or down protrudes out.
I dont have the spec sheets, but you can find it at this link after choosing the model of motorcycle (R1200RT or R1200GS etc)
                BMW Motorrad USA

Although most owners in India dont reveal the final cost, I understood one of the R1200GS in Bangalore cost about 17 laks after customs.

@ yaser_kb100- Ofcourse I remember the K1. Even I had a fancy for that bike when introduced. I think it also won the best design bike of the year award then.

Thanks Thunder. Well BMW has been making technologically advanced bikes since 1923 & the legacy continues.... Ofcourse, it comes at a premium price. Way back in 1983 itself they introduced Electronic ignition & Electronic fuel injection on their bikes.

Haroon, you just made someone HATE indian manufacturers. You are responsible for this.
