Well, the BMW park lane sure did not let me test ride the S1000RR, cause the insurance (they do a one day insurance on you) company did not realise my weird looking booklet Indian license , although I had an international license as well (another bigger booklet)Originally posted by csajal View PostI've been a huge huge fan of the BMW S1000RR since the day it was launched early this year!! Hope all BMW fans finds this interesting

BMW bikes launching in India!! That's awesome news man!! I really really pray that they decide to launch the S1000RR too!!Originally posted by armourofgod View PostFor me it was more like a crash course....
And I thought I knew more about bikes(Just Kidding), GOSH this tutorial was AMAZING. Good to know there's more to, than meets the eyes.
The good part is that finally the BMW is also launching the bike range in India soon enough. Now the competition will get fierce, but hopefull people who buy understand the true nature of the bikes. And buy them for the actual purpose of it and not just simply buy for showoff purpose.
But you know what I for one haven't met yet a Super Bike owner who has owns the steed for showoff!! Maybe I've met many people yet, but ya I've met good number of Super Bike owners and all of them are so madly with their machines that any time they can be smacked left right and center from their loved ones out of sheer jealousy
!!
Thats really very surprising from BMW's part and very unfortunate!! Really I for one can't even imagine of getting such an opportunity more than once in a life time!! But really riding the BMW S1000RR would really have been somethingOriginally posted by fireblah View PostWell, the BMW park lane sure did not let me test ride the S1000RR, cause the insurance (they do a one day insurance on you) company did not realise my weird looking booklet Indian license , although I had an international license as well (another bigger booklet)

Dear Friends.
The munich visit is only the final part. Watch out the Touring section here in a few days from now. Myself & wife have just finished a wonderful trip in the European alps aboard a 2010 model BMW R1200RT.......

S1000rr
Okay, this comes from the BMW test area in Landeck Austria. There is a S1000rr to experience though they say the immense power and the large turn radius can be a bit of a handful.
The specs as given by BM are ( in brief)-
999cc, max power is 142 KW or 193 ps at 13000 rpm, there is a 3 way cat convertor, tyres are 120/70 ZR17 and 190/55 ZR 17 , dry wt is 183 kg , laden wt is 203 kg.
The swingarm is a glop of stainless, the exhaust note is threatening and the seating is far forward. Carbon fibre parts abound for weight decrease.
Hope to get it under my butt in the next few days ,God willing.
Regards,
Prashant Gosavi

My Dream Bike Is "THE BMW S1000RR"...........
post Some info and pix about this Beast.........
For a BMW car & bike lover, I hope you have seen Day 7 of my European bike trip. Lots of photos there from the BMW World & Museum in Munich.
As for the actual BMW bike, if all goes well you may get to see (& photograph) an R1200GS bike passing thru Kodungalur during mid-September. Dont ask who the rider is, but he speaks very good malayalam
.
Hope you have seen the crisp xBhp photos on the S1000RR
