    Hi Haroon,
I got myself a R1200GS. Sold my intruder to make the switch. Am loving it.
    Cheers

Life is like riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still.

Congrats Anurag...this is fantastic news. I also went from a cruiser to my first BMW and ever since there has been no looking back.....

Eager to hear your experiences with the GS and the dealer. Another friend also recently picked a triple black edition GS from the Delhi dealer

Go easy on the tyres . Last I heard Navnit motors did not have tyres for my R1150GS because of the recent ISI stamp regulation. I have been trying to locate a pair of tourances for the last three months

Is the ISI regulation applied if anybody personally brings the tires as checked-in baggage?

Since you brought up Navneet, any idea how well trained are their mechanics? I mean is it just the basic service (oil/filter/valve timing etc) or are they knowledeable to split the GS into two halfs for things like a transmission gasket leak, final drive etc? Something like this??

Tyres were not allowed in checked-in baggage even before the ISI rules came into effect but one could still sweet talk and get them through, even I have done that once. Now as things stand, no tyres without the ISI mark are allowed whatever the mode of bringing them into India (Unless..I think, if they come with a CBU).

I cannot give any opinion on Navneet as I only went to them for tyres. I do all the work myself but I would think that they would be competent enough, the boxer engine & the FD is pretty easy to work on.

Since I am not aware of the whole rule, when you say ISI mark- For majority of sbk tires that are not made in India, does it mean the tire importer has to send the tires to a ISI lab or something and have them stamp it or do ISI have authorised inspection authorities abroad (like Intertek, Moody, SGS etc) who will inspect & certify before its shipped to India? So how exactly does the ISI marking work?

                          there is a naked(street) version of F 800 called F800 R.

Its very similar to F 800 GS but has chain drive instead of belt drive and has no front flairings.
I was having F800 last season before my crash in last November.
Will upload the beauty's pictures this evening.
