    • Nice to see an update after a long time! 11k is a lot in such a short period.

I was wondering, aren't you mostly a highway rider and wont increasing teeth on the rear kinda mess up your high speed cruise'ability? Cool to have fun in the city but once you get on the highway, it gets PRETTY annoying. I would suggest you to stick to stock while on the highway.

As for the DSG Mesh, make sure you carry more than just the thermal provided with the jacket to keep you warm in Rajasthan. This jacket has very less protection from the cold and is strictly a summer jacket. The thermal almost proved futile in present Bangalore conditions, so carry more thermal wear.

I believe they have discontinued the MT-01 worldwide. Only the SP model will continue to be sold in some geographies. It had to happen...the bike didn't quite fit any mould. It is not a sportbike...and it isn't a cruiser either. It is perfect for 30 somethings like me who've had enough to do with speed and want to settle down...but don't want to go the way of the "Hog" with a full-out cruiser.

                      • Guru, the MT is the perfect bike for sensible bikers; not for teenagers and first timers, they can enjoy their I-4 crotch rockets And, it's perfect for Indian riding too.

Another reason why it didn't sell well was due to the pricing in initial period of its life. It was significantly pricier than the other sports bikes and anyways, sports bikes sell in far greater numbers than nakeds.

Who are you on fb? Search for me by name.

From an Indian perspective it is absolutely fantastic. Air-cooled...no issues in traffic and an absolute dear in city traffic where you don't have to worry about fairings. Plus it doesn't intimidate me...a Busa with a sliding rear-end is a brown-underpants moment...MT01 is so manageable.

Yup...which is why in India we are lucky to get it for the same price as the R1!! I was grinning like a bugger when the pricing came out...it has an exclusivity that cannot be matched by anything this end of a Ducati.

Akrapovic exhausts have gone on my MT-01. A friend of mine also bought Streetfighter's MT-01 and has the RAASK pipes on his.

The noisemakers are out on Mumbai streets!!!

                            pics coming soon.
