  • Hi Guys,

Was wondering how a Fazer Dome will look on a comet & if the dome will mate with the tank well, apparently it fits well with a lot of modifications & will look like in the pic below (poor quality thanks to Raju My cousin) considering its cost 12K INR for the parts & about 3 to 5 K for the mods & fitting I don't think I will go in for the same.

    Cheers

    • Sunil,
Nahh.. Try using the FZ's naked lamp. Keep the comet the way it is - naked. My 2 cents

      • Sunil,

Where can I find a bar end mirror for my LB500 in Bangalore?

Also, will a single bar end mirror be enough for decent all round visibility?

BTW, I simply love your signature.

        Cheers,

        Jay

The Ones on FZ (ovel shaped ones) are avilable in JC Road for 350 Rs a pair they are not of good quality, but usable.

If some one is traveling form the US, can they get me 2 pairs of napoleon bar end please ....

            Thank you Sunil.

Will check out JC if they have a similar option. Its for a pulsar.
EDIT: Oh and Btw the Fazer dome might look good but i never like these kind of non stock fittings. Its very difficult to get a perfect mounting and a slight mismatch would leave you with a highly irritating rattle.

              • It will with lots of mods like welding on steering column, modifying Flaring mount braces, relocating my crash guard down etc ..., just that I didn't like it in the end, nor felt its worth the price, I will go in for other mods for the same price that I believe have a better ROI.

                Cheers

                  • This is Our (Mine & My Cousins) Agony this week trying to realize
My Bro's desire & deign to fit Fazer review Mirror on to the ZMA flaring

Even after Our repeated plies NOT To over engineer the solution, he wanted some support from Charsee to come up to the flaring & support both the mirror nolts so here it goes ....

Find a L-angle plate & make i flat by hydrolic press

                    Then Try cutting it

                    make it straight

                    Cut in to tow half's

Can you ID this? its the ZMA front striped all the way ..

Grind it & fir the Hamer head Shark design (that what I call it now) on to ZMA Charsee unit

                    Fit the Dome back

now make the inside clamps that will connect the Hammer head support to the inside of rearview

No place to Access the inside of the flaring to take measurements

                    Drill the marked holes

This is a ingenuously designed part (he spent half day & lots of stuff like mouse pad & CPU Cabinet to make it) that is suppose to distribute weight from inside & help save the flarings from huge & heavy Fazer Mirror weights !!!! ...

Nuts welded on to the inner support so its eazy to remove & mount.

The peice is too long, cut it thread it & re-check we did it so many times ....

Marked & drilled the holes on the flarings

get the exact same size on the other side

Wow the larger Sized bolts (even tough Allenkey type) will not go in to the mirrors, so drill bigger holes & shelve the heads !!! notice 4 shelived one Org.

Doing all these I got a mettle piece jump in to my hand ...

We had to spent almost an hour to figure out the design to spread weight WONT WORK !!!!!!! & remove throw it .....

later relise we cannot do this at night & need to return the next day ... this is how it looked after all the work & still one bold on each side cannot have a nut, due to the dome design & placement of hole ....

Finally next day Me & My Cousin just put an other rearview on to one of the holes & stubed the other in like 1 hour, the other one we spent more than 8 hours ...........

                    Lessons learn't are
                    1. DO NOT Over engineer any solution
                    2. Fazer rear view are good for visiability but tooooo long for ZMA.
                    3. Never try to get a supporting structure (espetally one piece for both) flarings mirrors form the charsee.

                    4. Just use a 7 shaped clamped from meter bolt to flaring to support the mirror if needed ...

                    Cheers
                    Sunil

                        • More updates:

                          1. LED at rear number plate light (50Rs) from JC road
                          2. 2 Eye Brow type LE strips with current limiter
---- a pair of LED strips with annoying blinkers (150 Rs) from JC road
---- a 3 watt LED current limiter & regulator from Om electronics on SP road (40 Rs)

Have a 3-wat high power LED (70 Rs) from On Elns on SP Road that's really bright but, didn't like it as no focus enclosure yet, also have a led strip & thinking of something with the rear foot pegs will post when I try the same.

For now some pics to enjoy :

Still to find a right enclosure for the current limiting circuit.

                          Cheers
