  • My R6 Modded : Akrapovic Carbon Fiber Slip On

    Hey guys.

As promised, here is an update on my whip.
I got an Akrapovic Carbon Fiber slip on installed on it last week. Since my last thread, i also have installed Xenon lamps on the bike.
Here are a few pictures of the pipe packaging. The pipe installed on the bike.
A sound test and a fly by video. The video is about 2 mins long. The pipe sounds much better in person btw. Anyway enjoy guys.

Wow Carlitos. The akrapovic has a very refined sound. Music to the ears. Its premium stuff, but well worth the money.
Congrats and thanks for sharing it with us.

Great sound man, and that car near the 3 min marks sounded good too(sounded like a V8).

Wo! At the idle rpm, it sounds almost like stock ... What a refined thing it is. Video was long, but excellent quality!
I suppose it must have made low end pretty good!

Carlitos bro, Thanks for sharing this video & other info. So, is it legal using it on streets in US? Or its racetrack specific?
and what's the percentage gain you expect in top end?

Oh, so this is what you meant when you told me about the mods
Nice work ! I think this is the best looking after market exhaust for Yamahas out there. They look cool on a R1 as well.
                      Neat job !
May the torque be with you..

Thanks man. Yup on the video it sounds like the stock at idle. It is much deeper though. It is a street legal pipe. Although i removed the low noise insert from the pipe. It isnt street legal any more. I figured it shouldnt be a problem since most people run full exhausts. Full exhausts take the cat converter out. So they sound extremely loud.

The Akrapovic website says it adds about 2 bhp at 11K rpm. That's good considering it just a slip on.

I thought so too. It was an old Camaro. Probably a V8....could have been a V6 too.

                              Thanks
