Hey i saw the same bike next to air india building at around 1am today.even the color was the same...was it u buddy.ur location is confusing me...that the slip on which pulled my attention .if not the ur have a replica bike here....:P..

Pardon my ignorance but it seems the idling is set too high or is it the same with every R series or every SBK after putting a slip on exhaust? There was an R6 in my colony but its idling was not this high.

i think you could have just removed the muffler & rode the bike ,if want some real music get a full racing system

@ Rahul9985 :It idles at about 1800 rpm. Its normal. The R series is a very high revving bike. But i am not sure if all SBKs do so.

@vikaskurup :I live in Chandler, Arizona in the U.S. So you dint see my bike for sure. But wow, am thrilled to know there is one in India too. This color was a special edition.

@anirudh fz1 : A bike without a muffler looks sad man. Although i have heard an R6 with out. Doesn't sound anything close to race. If its race what u want, you need to get a full system. I just wanted something louder and deep. It does that and adds a couple of horses. So its pretty neat.

Sounds excellent... BTW just for specs, how much difference (price) is there between a slip-on and a full exhaust system?

sounds bloody hot!! what i wanted to know was whether it makes a differnce in the low end torque? thats what i have heard, could be wrong though

@svjhonda : Price difference is a lot. more than twice sometimes.
My slip on was about 450$. The full system goes for about 1000-1500$. Plus if you get a full system, u need to get a power commander fuel management system, which is an additional 250 $. You get cheaper slip ons too. But if you want quality....u gotta pay premium.

@anhil8tr : Nope man, doesnt do anything to the low end. If you look at the dyno charts for the slip on vs stock, all of them pretty much make same power at low end, but make slightly more at top end....
With full systems, you do make a lil more bottom end and a lot of top end. Basically the CAT converter is the culprit. Full systems get rid of that. So it saves weight and there is nothing restricting the air flow. So you make more power.

Awesome exhaust note.The stock R6 always had sweet acoustic performance and with this slipon it gets even better. I am sure there must have been considerable bump in throttle response!!

The throttle response was always good, thanks to the fly-by-wire system Yamaha uses. But the exhaust has surely smoothed out the power delivery.
Basically, when ever you put a slip on or a full exhaust, you also get rid of the EXUP valve. This valve is controlled by a servo motor located near the mono-shock. It basically controls the opening of a valve in the stock muffler to bump up power according to the throttle input. So technically removing it may result in slightly lower power being made. That is where the premium price u pay for certain slip ons comes into play.

Cheaper ones seem to be like a simple straight pipe.Which only changes the exhaust note. Where as premium brands like Yoshimura Akrapovic etc put in a lot of R&D into the path that the exhaust gases take to leave the pipe. This helps a lot in freeing up air flow and hence the slight bump in power at higher rpms.

Cheaper slipons go for about 150 to 250$. The Yoshis and Akrapovics go for about 400$ +
