Basically, when ever you put a slip on or a full exhaust, you also get rid of the EXUP valve. This valve is controlled by a servo motor located near the mono-shock. It basically controls the opening of a valve in the stock muffler to bump up power according to the throttle input. So technically removing it may result in slightly lower power being made. That is where the premium price u pay for certain slip ons comes into play.

Cheaper ones seem to be like a simple straight pipe.Which only changes the exhaust note. Where as premium brands like Yoshimura Akrapovic etc put in a lot of R&D into the path that the exhaust gases take to leave the pipe. This helps a lot in freeing up air flow and hence the slight bump in power at higher rpms.

Cheaper slipons go for about 150 to 250$. The Yoshis and Akrapovics go for about 400$ +
The EXUP valve is not to bump up power. It is actually to Increase low and mid range performance. An exhaust cannot be tuned for Both low end and High end. So to increase the back pressure, the this valve is partially closed. In wide open throttle, this vale will be fully open to aid better free flow. This technology is used in by diff manufactures under diff names. Without the EXUP valve, you will find a notable change(decrease) in low end torque. A full exhaust system is not for low end. Its for Top end Horses only.
BTW,Nice ride you have. Ride safe Bro.

Thanks for the correction bro. But it doesn't seem to lose any low end torque with out the EXUP valve. Even the dyno charts at various exhaust manufacturers point that out. Here is the one for the Akrapovic slip on vs stock

Silly jokes aside, I think you should now get rid of the cat con. Have you thought about it?
I'd love to get rid of it man. But it becomes too freaking loud after that. I love the sound for about 5 mins. Then its plain annoying. My frnd has a full Leo Vince system on his Gixxer 600. It sounds incredible. But when i am out riding with him, it gets annoying after a while. plus there are lot of places where race exhausts arnt allowed. People hardly get pulled over by cops for noise, but still. Full exhausts are cop magnets. Draw a hell of a lot of attention.

I wouldnt trust any graph that you havent done yourself on a dyno. a slipon does not remove the exup valve.its only the full exhaust.

I have the EXUP valve cable that was removed from my bike. Maybe i can post pictures of it for you to see.The valve is on the stock exhaust muffler.
Every slip on that is sold comes with installation instructions for removing the EXUP valve cable. There are numerous how to dos on almost every SBK forum on installation of slip ons, and all of them remove the EXUP valve cables.

Graves Motor sports also sells a 50$ part called the Servo Motor Eliminator. Which basically removes the servo motor as well.

              Or its racetrack specific?
and what's the percentage gain you expect in top end?
Its a slip on, they allow generally less-restricted airflow and tend to free up a small amount of horsepower, usually at the very top end of the powerband / over-rev range, you wont gain much power, but it does make your bike feel like it breathes better. Since his is Carbon fibre, maybe some weight loss on the bike.

Some race tracks (including Laguna seca) have DB limits where these mods are a no go.

BTW carlitos, bike looks damn sexy!... Save some money and get Ohlins suspension and set it up for your weight +15lbs. Makes a lot of difference.I'd spend on what I'd use ( suspension and tires), then maybe get a cheap race skins( 350 - optimal racings) and hit the track. Then u'd get addicted and sell your bike get a cheaper track bike to fund your addiction .On a very serious note, your bike has wayy to much hp to want more... unless your breaking some serious laws

Also from what I see , almost all sbk owners here dont ve the complete gear ? ( or maybe i just saw pictures where you arent wearing them) . LEATHER with CE approved armour is complete... textile is just makedo.

Thanks man. Next up are tires. probably Bridgestones. Track days...i so wanna do them. Waiting to gain some more experience before try em out.

Yeah, the jacket you see in my video is a leather jacket. In a fall, nothing holds up better than leather. Folks back home spend a crazy price for their SBKs...makes sense to invest a bit in proper gear.

Very interesting thread going here. Thanks for sharing. I would have also like to see the details of putting up the exhaust. I would like to answer this question... You say that it makes a little difference in power. Why does one go for the slip-on? Is it just for the sound? Secondly, what if you do not wanna put on a slip-on and get rid of the cat con?
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Good. Thanks for that detailed explanation. I liked going through it. So it is mostly for a good sound and a good look.

Yeah pretty much for sound and looks.
Lot of folks argue on getting the megaphone slip ons. Which are cheaper. these dont add power at all, but you get the sound and a different look. U can get megaphones for like 100-200 bucks. They are just simple molded pipes (see pic). This one sold by Graves Motorsports. Other manufacturers also sell these kinds.
But then folks like me, want a brand name. Or a Carbon Fiber look. Then Akra Yoshi and Leo Vince come into the picture. And they add a bit of power.

Sometimes folks buy slip ons and couple them with new header pipes. Companies like MJS performance sell header pipes that can be couple with slip ons. So the set up costs a bit less than getting a full exhaust from the likes of Akrapovic.

                            slip on - (250-500)$
                            MJS Headers - (300 - 400) $
                            or
                            Full Exhaust - (900 - 1600) $

Then u need to add a Fuel Management system = (250-300)$

So its up to the cash you can cough up and what kind of set up you want.

                              Okay my fellow bikers....

Here are a few updates and mods installed on my R6 in the recent months.

                              1. Bridgestone BT016 Tires (front and rear)
                              2. BMC Air Filter
                              3. Proton Flush Mount front Turn Signals

Also, here is what happened on the 14th of March

I cleaned the bike and wanted to take a few pictures at a classy house i saw in the neighborhood. It was by a small airport. So i go there and park my bike and this guy comes out from a huge mansion in his Harley....
asks me what i was doing... (kinda sternly)
i tell him that i wanted to take a few pictures of my bike in front of the house...
So he invites me inside.....not the house.....but the airport. It turned out to be a private airport.....
And, if that wasnt enough....he told me that The President of Yamaha USA Racing is his buddy. He gave me his own Business card and asked me to email him the pictures. He told me that i was free to take pictures inside and left. That place had about 25 privately owned planes. People have house by the runway. they open their gates, drive the plane onto the runway and take off. I wanted to do a high speed run on the runway, but wasnt sure if i could. the guy had already left.
Anyway, here are a few pictures for you guys to enjoy.
