i love this part of the tar roads, in summers they even make the most shittest tyre (read TVS tyres) stick like leech to them.

      • Thanks for the correction but it doesnt help my nerves...I am seriously thinking of buying a smaller bike for riding in rain. Will discuss with friends over this weekend.

I have ridden R15 in Mumbai and I absolutely love it. No wonder I have voted for R15 being the best indian bike today. The only put-off is the sleek rear tyre though...

Any suggestion on other bikes for rains? How about a bullet? Or is someone going to give me gyan saying "its not about the bike its about the biker... blah blah blah..."

AFAI can remember R15 is the only motorcycle whose stock tire simply rocks as the other worthy alternatives are very pricey and you shall notice a difference once you are lapping Kari or MMST in anger

Sure the rear-tire is wafer think, but it works and once you get to 10K and start shifting, i don't think you shall like any other motorcycle in that price range

^pick up Ten's 250R, if i was in MH(due to reg) i could have thought

Aur you can have activa or suzuki access.
I love these scoots in rains cuz they save my pants from all sorta muds.

on bikes i'll suggest R15 or the new single seater bullet.

I agree to this 100%, coz I ripp & corner in the rains on wet roads (as easily as in any other season) & touchwood, had never crashed. I am amazed at the grip I get, but it only applies for TAR ROADS & not for concrete roads, where a lil breaking in rains is a big invitaion for a big disaster...

                    • I have the first one shown so can vouch that they fit great. You can walk comfortably and can wear them for whole day. Safety? Will need a crash to tell you but since they are Astar, should be great. Cost - 3750.

Parrot owns the last one so you can ask him.

We can always swap our bikes for the monsoon season. Alternatively, I also own a Bajaj Saffire. It is great for saving your legs from mud and no problem at all while cornering because the max speed it can get is around 25 kmph.

Your disagreement may be stemming out of your inexperiences with wheelspins and wheel locks. Sorry, I know thats blunt.
I agree to disagree with you. Just take a ride in full blown rains, let the tyres warm for a km or so and then let me know your opinion on this subject.

why do lap times fall by 5-10 secs on an avg on race motorcycles with wet tires?

^ i know we aren't talking lap times and nutters do lap ~2 secs off the regular timings, the thing is how comfy you are, i most of the times play with the throttle of my R15 just as i do in the dry, don't think i shall do the same even on a 400 and won't take out my super sports,
but as far as braking is concerned, i play safe and progression is the key
