Ok, I nominate you as my coach for cornering. I hope you charge only in kind.

Dude, riding behind you was like riding behind an instructor demonstrating me how to lean on corners. I have gained confidence in corners just by following you on Bavdhan road and during our Aamby trip. Your sitting position on the bike is good. Rohan, we need a lot more rides like these. I am planning early morning weekday rides...Lets discuss it coach.

Overall, I am so happy about the G2G ride. The Pune-Lonavla ride was horrible but the Lonavla-Aamby ride made my day. Awesome road, nice corners (except the scary hair-pin bends) and good to see so many fellow riders! The heat was a put-off though.
I need some guru to teach me riding techniques...
The heat made a tandoori outta me by the time i reached home

      @Ram
Belated wishes for your anniversary man! I should have taken treat from you yesterday Am so glad to meet you and your despoine in person.

I purposely started and left early primarily because I was not sure whether I will be able to manage the corners with many riders around me. I guess I will be more confident for riding along during next G2G and I hope it happens sooner. Nevertheless, it was a memorable day!

And you know what? there were more bikers from the COPS group who rode along with us from Pune-Lonavla. Unfortunately they had to head back to attend some occassion. Their rides were as follows:
      • R1 (50th anniversary edition)
      • Gold-Back Busa
      • CBR 600 RR: White-Red-Black
      • CBR 600 RR: Red-Black with Jardine
      • '05 Black Fireblade with Lasers
It would have been more fun had they made it to Aamby.

SVJ, its Motul full synthetic. Gotta change it after couple of weekend rides. Anyone has any suggestion about better oil???

            Oil for the Banshee?

Motul 300V, Factory Line. Think no further. As an alternative, if you have access to someone who can import oil, try the REPSOL MOTO 4T RACING 5W-40.

            • Monsoon too soon

              Read news on cnn-ibn:
              1. Early monsoon hits Andamans
              2. Heavy rains are likely to lash coastal areas of Andhra and Tamil Nadu
Looks like the riding season is coming to an end. I am slipping in to depression

              • Actually, riding season will start now. The heat is a real killer - not the rains. Your riding jacket is already waterproof. Just wear raincoat pants and Goooooooooooooooooooo.

If you want, I can show how to do it on your bike. :-)

                  • sorry for my ignorance but rainy season is the one where the touring spirit can be explored to the max especially around mumbai-pune.

are the SBK's so difficult to handle in rains or is it that rains donot allow you to exploit the bike's prowess that is frustrating

IMHO --there can be no better way to motorcycling than rainy season

                    • Riding SBKs in rain isnt frustrating...its scary.
                      Its just downright risky sometimes.
Just the other day there was some water the road and I had the biggest wheel spin of my life..
Ofcourse if one is careful with the throttle and in the right gear it can be avoided as no one is running on slicks here. We do have grooves but hell when your wheel spins like theres no tomorrow you do tend to think twice about riding a 1000 in the rains.
Now add a small dash of oil spills, slippery/muddy surfaces, concrete roads wet sand (either of them or ALL of them together) to it and you have a perfect recipe for disaster !

Ninja touring in the rains all the way !!!! Yooohooo

How easy/difficult is it to get rid of the mud that stucks in to the radiator fins?

IMO, Winter is the best time for Touring, but when you live in or around Mumbai-Pune, the perception automatically changes
