congrats amit on your new ride...ride safe and wear safe.!!!...but the following is from my heart and if anybody finds it offensive then please bear the pain.......does any of you seriously think that he is doing some small odd job and then saved and saved enough money to go and buy an R1!!!!....try it yourself and then you will see...its like growing a small fish in your pond and then hoping that in 2 years it will grow big and then you can eat it but at the end of 2 yrs will neither eat it nor catch it!!!!....following a dream is one thing but following an expensive dream is another thing....imagine if you earn 50000 rs a month and manage to save 30000 rs(virtually impossible!) then it will still take 4 yrs to reach 14 lakh rupees!!! and this is not considering the time you take to reach 50000rs a month pay check!!! and even if you manage then would any of you please tell me honestly dump 14 laks at a yamaha showroom for the R1 just out of passion!!!!!...most pure working class i have seen buying sbk's are either pilots,marine engineers and such in the heavy paid sectors....so i dont find it inspiring enough that some guy would just go and book an R1 out of passion and then think about what next later...what i mean by pure working class are guys who work themselves and not guys who work with their dads and then tell that yeah i am working!!!! i am writing all this because i am little tired of the usual drama involved in buying an sbk" i didnt have money to buy food after buying my dream" and " i had only enough to buy 5 ltrs of petrol" share your joy and happiness but please cut the drama part because everybody knows its really hard to arrange 1.3 million rupees in a day and then saying the above....and then people commenting that "ohhhh its really inspiring that even though you didnt have money to buy food you went and bought an R1"!!!!!!!!

P.S: dont think these are the views of some" normal-jealous-indian-commuter" even i ride with 180 horses between my legs...so sbk's are not new to me...

You are neither a 'normal jealous commuter' nor a 'pure working class' individual and you ride with 180 horses between your legs so you think that you are a class apart and can comment on other 'pure working class' individuals that being able to efficiently manage the finances and getting a superbike or for that matter any premium priced thing is not their cup of tea and is confined to just a chosen few?
As per your calculations it ill take 4 years to manage 14L, I say let it take 10 years, If someone dreams and follows their dreams they will wait as Mr. Amit waited 6 years. I agree He is financially well placed but so are many others and people can work hard and chase their dreams and even catch them too without having their own million dollar enterprises or working in the heavily paid sectors.

ya some facts do hurt many... Never mind we can buy an R1 one day buddy...

Its not about being able to buy or not buddy... The way he categorized wasn't appropriate. Its not that people born with a silver spoon or only HNI's got the key to expensive dreams, Hardwork does pay and I am sure even you'd agree on that !

I finally decide to put finger to keyboard and try and write about my lovely blade's ownership experience which has been a mixed one. After a long wait ~8year to buy a superbike i could finally achive the dream. Yes i bought it with my own money that i earned over the 8 year period i worked as a software engg proejct manger types. So allthouse who plan to save to buy a super bike , start saving its is a possiblity.

@Amit - I hope my post wasn't offensive, I was just trying to make sure you knew the costs involved in living with an R1. Think of the bike as an expensive Biwi...Rakhi Sawant types
