thanks man but what pisses me is that most people just seem to forget the practicalities of life...alll this is really really possible if you stay single for most of your life!!!!...the moment somebody else comes into your life then priorities change from spendin 13 laks on an sbk to down payment for your new flat!!!!

Although, many would disagree with this statement (atleast online, in the forum), but we all know that this is, after all, the truth! This is SO true. I have seen a couple of my friends who were keen to get a SBK before getting married, buying a flat/ house for themselves with the "SBK account" (so to speak).

      Grim reality? You bet!

Hello guys !!!! well srry to keep all of u waitin , but just cudn't keep my hands off it !! so here goes my first ride experience :
well, i donno where to start, the first time i saw it comin out of the box,i was spellbound.I can safely say it was the happiest day of my life.Got a message from the manager @ arnd 8:30 in the morning tht the bike had reached their workshop. Rushed there with my brothers and there it was waiting patiently for us . So the yamaha guys started with the PDI,took arnd 3 hrs to finish it & man ohhh man they were really looooong 3 hrs .Finally , it was time to make it come to life . Now guys i had not heard the 2010 R1 before & the sound just blew me away, it was, i dn't know, it was ,surreal.....pure nirvana. So then came the moment of truth , i sat on the "one",pushed the starter & it roared to life. my previous bike is a CBZ,so obviously i was a lil' nervous.Engaged the clutch put it in 1st gear & it made a "thud",slowly, very slowly released the clutch & the throttle & it moved forward ever so smoothly & before i knew i was in second gear riding my dream !!! I CUD NOT BELIEVE IT(still hasn't sunk in completely!!!). Nothing comes close to the feeling, it is like the culmination of years of dreaming & it just leaves u spellbound, u really dn't know how to react. U r happy but ur not smiling, u r just focusing on the task at hand !!!!!!!!!! and then reality hits u , delhi traffic jam!!!! I had read how it is a big trouble riding it in traffic, but actually riding is REAL TOUGH, not as much coz' of the traffic , but coz' of the amount of insane heat it generates !!! its like sitting on ur own personal nuclear reactor !!!!!!!!!
Its been 2 days now, hv clocked arnd 390 kms already, that too in delhi traffic only!!! now sitting at home with blisters on my thighs(i kid u not,it actually burned my thighs!!!) & a sore wrist , but guys u know what, still got the biggest grin on my face .
so here r more pics for all of u,,,,,videos coming tmmrw......cheers,, tk cr

@Amit: Your "first ride" post says it all. We all could literally sense the kind of excitement that you are teeming with! However, I would seriously suggest you to get some riding gear - atleast a riding jacket and a pair of motorcycle riding gauntlets if nothing else, because just a t-shirt/ jeans is really not the way to ride a motorcycle, let alone a superbike like the 2010 R1! I hope you are thinking of investing on some good riding gears, soon.

As for the xBhp dhaba, it is located near Katwaraia Sarai, at Qutub Institutional Area, just opposite the Fore School of Management (Qutub Institutional Area). If you want the EXACT location, please click the link below to view the map of the dhaba, and how to reach there.

          Thanks,

So finally you OWN "THE R1". Reading your first experience I can understand what you must be going through
And the burnt thighs, I think you can bear that . Sore wrists comes free with SBKs but you will get a habit of that and it will be less after some riding.
Hope to see you in the G2G
                Congrats again.

congratulations again. I agree with Aryan get some riding gear as soon as possible, and a good riding position is very important for a more comfortable ride, as far as heat from the bike is concerned ask Fireblah for solutions, if any at all.

                      • Get her tomorrow at the G2G, it would be great and timing is also in morning so your thighs should be alright.

sooo true Aryan but most people just seem to forget this grim reality atleast online!!!for 98% of the guys their first bike is bought by their parents either as college gadi or bithday gift so the reality of "saving " for an sbk really doent hit them on the head....but what to say dreaming and buying is actually a very big thing....i still remember when i bought my R1..it was my second month into marriage but now even though i earn triple that amount i am still not able to accumulate 7-8 laks together because of so called priorities of life!!!! iam sorry if i have hurt someone with truth coz truth always has an ugly face!!!!

From a CBZ to an R1 is quite an upgrade. Take care, and ride safe.

I rode my friends 2010 R1 a few days ago. It scared the hell out of me. Please treat her with respect & keep a control on your wrists!
