I have YAMAHA RX-100 (1986-Original ckd Japan Model)
During last servicing I changed my accelerator wire.
At that time I also topped up my 2T Oil Tank to full.

Yesterday i realized that, In just 821 KMs, my 2T Oil tank is almost empty.

Is it correct consumption rate of 2T Oil for YAMAHA RX-100? Or is there anything wrong??

Please reply
Hi, Could you please include details like how many kms has the bike covered (odometer reading), Is there any excessive smoke after the cable has been changed. What was the oil consumption before.

If there is excessive smoke and fouling of the plug, the 2t oil pump setting must have been off while installing the new accelarator cable. Get this checked by a competent mechanic who knows Yamaha strokers well.

Please Let us know the updates.

Cheers

Re: Question(s) regarding Yamaha RX100 engine overhaul

Its RX-100-1986 Model. Total running is 1,89,000 Kilometers till date.
Since last servicing reading is 821 KMs.

Spark Plug is clean and not fouled.
Not excessive smoke but little more white smoke at Lower Gears.

Today I refilled with 1000 ml Castrol 2T Oil. My Mechanic did some tweaking with accelerator wire and Spark Plug. He also removed 2T Oil Output wire and checked Pumping.

He said, 2T Oil consumption rate is nearly proper.

Phantom1111, even i have noticed little extra white smoke in 1 and 2nd gears in my 88 RX100. I was using autolube, but now changed to premix. I add 20 ml of 2T oil with 1 ltr of petrol. Now also it smokes more in lower gears. I think its common in RX100. As per my observation, RX100 smokes out more compared to RX135.

Re: Question(s) regarding Yamaha RX100 engine overhaul

Hi guys,

What are the parts one needs to procure (besides the obvious) for an engine/crank rebore and rebuild?

1. O/S Piston kit
2. Packing kit
3. Engine Bearing kit
4. Reed
5. Manifold rubber

Basically what are all the small consumables like gaskets, nuts, bolts, rubber as these are what add's up to the cost and delays the process sometimes.

Also what are the specific components that would differ for the 5speed (4TL10) ?

p.s. MODS - posting here as it is an engine overhaul thread rather than the general RX questions thread. Feel free to merge
