All the best for the rebuild. Hope you would have gone through RX100 restoration projects on this forum. Please check the parts that you buy from gray market for genuineness.

Thanks! I did get to see the body parts couple of weeks back when I paid a visit to him. The spares were original. Took some snaps. Will put up soon.

Pics that I had taken some weeks back:

Also, I paid a visit to the garage and he has assembled the bike to some extent. The bike does not have the engine, silencer, tank and the side panels mounted on them, rest everything is there. New tyres too I could not take pics last evening, but it appears to be a good job done. The mech has promised me the bike by next week since the painting of the tank and the side panels took longer than expected. Will post pics once I get the bike

OT: The engine is already assembled and I did not get to see the block piston kit. So, is there any way I can identify a fake block from an original by looking at the block from outside? Obviously I can't get to see the piston now..

you have a TKR PISTON KIT . cant say if its genuine or not unless i see some closeup pics. so now the question is, what block he has used cos the original Indian kit comes with Mahale piston n not TKR. why cant you post some pics whith the block assembled on the bike?

Oops.. Forgot to mention the piston that you see in the pics is not mine. He had ordered parts for my bike as well as 2 pistons for some RD. Those are RD pistons and not RX pistons. So please ignore that. The box only contains body parts for my RX. Block piston kit for my bike had not arrived at that time. Remember these pics are about 3 weeks old (pre-Diwali)..

Also, I did not see the engine yesterday. Just forgot to ask him about it (was in a hurry). Will click loads of pics once I get the bike next week. I am too tied up with new job, so can't go to him again this week.

@Yamdoot: Just for my info, is there any way I can distinguish between an original and a fake block by looking from outside? Just want to be prepared in any case.

alibaba aek kaam karo go to nana peth and make some enquiry with local shop owners like jai bharat, laxmi etc as these guys deal with genuine as well as delhi made stuff for all bike's/scooters etc ask them about the block/piston kit for RX original and china one, then ask them if original is avilable and how much, same time enquire about the chinese/taiwan ones and tell them can i see the chinese ones, then you can take a look at that block, another thing is that the chinese ones come without the piston.
Once i happened to see a chinese block i'll tell you my observation, the fins of the block are very smooth if you compare the same to the genuine block(geuine fins are rough)this is the most important observation which i saw,and was told to me by a friend working with these guys and he even told me that a new chinese block has to be bored for the first oversize as the sleeve inside is not proper and does not match the standard piston/rings,sorry i cannot post pic's as this i had seen long time before almost a year before.

Thanks a lot man! Am also waiting eagerly to see my bike again. The mech claims that the paint quality will be better than the company paint. Lets see what he has to offer Btw, I have chosen metallic black which would have shades of golden color in sunlight

Went to see the status of the bike after giving a call to Jatinbhai. He said the only thing remaining on the bike is the tank and the side panels. They have not been done yet He said that the painter's brother passed away and he has gone to his hometown/village. Don't know when he will be back. This time I went all prepared with my camera to take some pics for you guys.

                              Here you go

If painting tank and side shield are the only pending, can't you try getting it done from else where? Why do you have to wait for painter's family to help?
I would have tried some other way to get my job done, least would wait especially when there is there is no ETA of the painter!
