All i am saying is, try to learn more during the rebuild. There are many Mechs in India who do the rebuild, but many such rebuilds dont even last for a year. Good rebuilds should last for atleast 8-10Yrs.

Below i am attaching the pic of my friends bike which was restored in 2006 & the picture was taken during April this year. 4 long years & just look at that bike. Its an RX100 converted to RX135 5-Speeder.

Also i am attaching my bike pic taken just few days back (Which was rebuilt in April 2008), in the backdrop is my dad's 1987 Fiat Padmini which was rebuilt in 2004.
Wow! Those are some nice RX's to look at

Did you do the rebuild of the bike? And the RX100 converted to RX135, wow! That's something really exciting. Is there any thread on it that I could look at?

      Glad you liked the RXs.

I am not a DIY kind of a person as far as assembly is concerned. But i take hell lot of interest in procuring spares & setting the bike as per my liking. My tuner does the job for me. Both those RXs were done by him. Sorry there is not thread for that RX100 as i wasn't so internet savvy back then as i am today.

Till date i have taken up rebuild/Mods projects of following bikes (Close friends only):
      1. My Green RX135 5-Speed
      2. My Black RX135 5-Speed (Yes it is about to get converted now)
      3. RX100 converted to RX135 5-Speed (Black)
      4. RX135 4-Speed converted to RX135 5-Speed with several mods (Wine Red)
      5. HH Splendor (Complete Engine rebuild)
      6. RX-Z 5-Speed (Engine mods - Blue)
      7. RX-Z 4-Speed (Engine mods - Black)
      8. RX135 4-Speed (Engine Mods - Black)
Very soon i am planning on rebuilding my 1998 Hero Puch 2G (2-Stroke, 65cc), i already have procured essential spares like, Cylinder+Piston kit, crank shaft, Carb assembly etc. Will start a new thread as & when it becomes feasible to start "Operation Hero Puch".

Update: Visited the mech yesterday. He had got the tank from the painter with black paint. Next the tank will go for the golden tapes and after that the final clear coat will be applied. He estimates the bike to be ready by this friday

We are all automatically friends, coz we share common passion for 2-Strokes.

Thanks a lot. But i must admit your bike is also one of the best stockish setup (Technically) i have come across & very neatly maintained. Currently i have 4 nos of 2-stroke machines with me:
              1. RX135 5-Speed, completely rebuilt & in now in hibernation.
              2. RX135 4-Speed, Engine rebuild should be complete by this weekend.
              3. Hero Puch 2G, this is next on my list & will be starting as & when i feel its about time. Spares are already in place.
              4. TVS Scooty ES, this i am planning a complete engine rebuild & maybe even cosmetic stuff as well. All the necessary spares like, Cylinder+Piston kit, crank shaft, Clutch assembly, Transmission belt etc are in place.
And i would keep these till my last breath.

Could you mention the difference in RX100 and RX135 tank? Is there any difference in shape and size or just graphics?

                Consider me noob

Its time for me to present to you the RX in a new form. But first a little story of how things got delayed. As promised I call up the mech. on last friday and he te;lls me that the tank has arrived from the paint shop and the decals need to fixed and the bike tested. So I should come on saturday and collect it. When I call him on saturday afternoon, he tells me that the bike will be done in an hour and he will call me. I get no call from him and I too get busy with something and forget to call him.

Sunday the garage is closed So call him up on monday when he tells me the bike is complete and I should collect it in the evening. I go there in the evening and find the bike ready with some last minute replacements being done. It seems in his road test he found the speedo to be not working, so he gets another cable and puts it on. I test ride and find that the speedo is still not working. He tells me that let him get the speedometer replaced since he has not delivered the bike yet otherwise the parts vendor will not give a replacement. I agree and tell him that I will be there the next day.

Next day I go there in the evening with one of my xBhpian friend 'Vrathor' (who initially helped me with this mech). We find the bike complete. Took a test ride around the garage and confirmed everything to be working. Paid the final amount. He has promised to get the bills from the spare parts vendor and pass it on to me. He even had the bill for the tyres but told him that I will collect it all together. Have clocked about 34 kms only in the last 2 days... Am on holiday till 26th of this month. So it will probably be ridden very less.

Now let's take a look at the pics

Beautifully restored RX Good eye for detailing by your mechanic! Would have looked better with a new chrome silencer!

P.S. : How much did you spend on the complete restoration

If I'm not wrong, seeing engine kill switch on ride side of the handle bar. Which bike's is that from?

Thanks BigBore! The reason we just chrome plated the old silencer is that if we got a new one, it would not sound like the old one Did not want to compromise on the original sound. Anyways after spending so much, it would have been a little more cost for a new silencer..

The whole restoration includes complete body parts replacement + block-piston kit replacement. So technically its a completely new bike

Am not aware of which bike it is from. But its definitely not from the RX series AFAIR.
