Grrrreeat info there.. this is an absolutely useful guide for anyone to identify their bikes/engines etc. Most of the information here, is news for me as well.

How about something for the RX100 as well, im sure there will be a lot of members waiting for info on that as well.

now i need help. What would be the recommended jets with a VM28, running a 5SPEED BLOCK? Bike is currently running 165 main, and 20 pilot, and it stutters around the 5000rpm mark. Please advise.

What's your needle position with 1 being top & 5 being bottom? What's the plug color? If its jet black, then move the needle one position above from the current.

135 is small; 165/17.5 is stock for 4S 12 Bhp
                    Ps - I run on TM28 with 180 MJ!!!

Ganesh, 4-speed carb & 5-speed carb are not same. They are totally different. Its not just the jets, but they are internally different too.

165/17.5 may be std for 4TL 01, but for 4TL4 20 its a different setting all together. And again, yours is a TM & we are talking VM here.

No argument here, but jetting is something which comes more with practical experience & thereby we deduce some thumb rules.

@JD.. Try using the choke when it flutters. If it improves, you need a bigger main jet n vise-versa.

@Karthik.. great thread buddy.. Vvery helpful.
